I have a wife, 5 kids, own my own business (hair salon), a 2 story home in which I have gutted and remodeled hardwood floors, tile in kitchen and bathrooms, retextured ceilings, repainting, replaced ceiling fans in each room and replaced bathroom vanity lights, as well as a tiled walk in shower with a glass door…. All this to say, this basketball goal was MUCH harder to do than any of those things. And no offense to his instructions, but wow… just wow… Cheers to those of you who actually finished this thing properly 😂 🙏

This video is mostly helpful, but definitely missing some detail. For example the possible use of a rubber mallet to push through the large bolts. They will not go in by hand and not everyone has an impact or drill to use. The book even says rubber mallet.

He uses the driver to push those large bolts thru in the video. I thought that was obvious that he couldn't do it by hand.

2:20 Previewing the instructions before getting started and I wonder how to decide how tall or short to screw in at this point, there looks to be ~2 inch variance in how long or short you make the connecting poles EDIT : never mind I see at 3:14 to strike the pole to the ground to shorten it :)

Messed up that smaller long bolt and the big bolts but I switch them right and realized I needed my hammer to put the nigglet bolts in 💪🏿 video very helpful

I followed these instructions and they were great. However, I am having issues with keeping my rim up, in the 2-months I've had it, the pins have somehow lost their place, making the rim tip over. Any idea what I could have missed?

Yes, the Slam It rim is compatible with the Fusion backboard. You will need to make sure you get the correct hardware. Seems pretty straight forward to me. He even mentions right at the beginning that this video is to supplement the instructions, not replace them. Just bought this. Gonna give it a go this afternoon.

In this video, on the drill we use a socket set, socket adapter, and a Phillips bit.

You'll just need to gently pull outward on the backboard brackets to get them to bend.

Down to the last screw and it wont go through the last hole on the pole. It's like the hole is too small.

If the screw is not going through the holes, it could be excess powder coating. One thing you could try is using the threads on the bolt to ream out the excess powder coating in the hole. Sometimes the large bolts won't go in by hand and you may need to use a drill to push them in. If you still have troubles after trying both of these suggestions, please contact our Customer Service Department. To Raise the Hoop: • Place the end of a long object, such as a broom handle, under the rim and push upward. To Lower the Hoop: • Place the broom handle behind the backboard and push upward into the release box. Carefully support the weight as you lower the system. The assembly video is meant to by used as a companion to the assembly manual and not a direct replacement. We recommend having the assembly manual on hand while building. The assembly manual shows a lot more detail and can show you exactly what hardware is needed for the step.
