This is surreal. I'm watching this video on my first trip to Bangkok, Thailand, at the Ashton Asoke. I live in Round Rock, TX about 2 miles away from that Smokey Mo's BBQ you stopped to eat at. Unless all the Smokey Mo's look exactly the same. Pretty wild. Small world. Have fun! I know I am in Bangkok.

How much money in Thai baht each time you spend return to USA.? One month Include plane ticket+car rental+ Airbnb)
@LifewithSerg7 күн бұрын
I fly business class so it’s it not cheap (130k THB round trip). So I spend about 245,000 baht on each month long trip. That includes plane tickets, Airbnb’s, rental cars, meals, hotels, etc..

Yes, very much enjoyed your trip in Austin. It make me imagine of some cowboys riding horses through those buildings in business areas like in movies I watched when I was young. Good they are still there, so nice. Thank you for sharing, from BKK.

Hey Serg, good to see you getting back to the States to see family. Always important to keep up with family where possible. If I was to ever go visit Texas I would go for two reasons. One is for a visit to Boca Chica, and having now watched this video then the brand new second reason would be to enjoy a spread of food laid out by your mum!! She did a grand job for Thanksgiving food there so well done to her for making sure you didn't go hungry 😉 just curious, but how have you found the transition from Thai life, food and culture, back to American food etc? Far too much meat for my liking tbh and I reckon if I ended up in America I'd have a heart attack from a meat overdose 😂 Useless fact of the day (triggered by watching you walk around the Congress building library) but my dad wrote a book with a friend of his on American jazz music in film. This was considered such a contribution to American history that copies of the book can be found in the Library of Congress in Washington plus various well known university libraries around the States.

I love going back. Every time I go back it just feels like I’m home again. I can read the signs, I know my way around, it’s not 1,000,000° outside, etc. I moved to Thailand because I wanted a different experience. I might stay for another two years, five years, or for the rest of my life. It’s really kind of open ended as far as the quantities of meat, that’s unlikely to give you heart attacks. It’s all the other processed stuff and heavy carbs that tend to do the damage. I’m not saying that I was eating the healthiest portions of meat, but for this trip, I definitely loaded up. That’s really cool about that book! Such an achievement

Those grill house meals are huge, each would be too much for 2 dinners! For me lunch is a Cornish pastry and coffee. Business class looked excellent and worth it for long hauls, but the prices these days😢. Used to be business class was 2.5X economy now it's about 4x.
@LifewithSerg9 күн бұрын
Those portions were either smaller than they looked, or larger than they looked. Ha ha. But it’s hard to beat that kind of barbecue. Economy on this particular route would’ve been about $1200. I paid $3700 for business class. so it’s about 3X. Me, it’s worth it. I’m pretty frugal in several other areas, so I don’t mind spending money on business class tickets for the long trips. Thank you so much for your support.

@LifewithSerg7 күн бұрын
@@mmaranta785 Bangkok to SFO and back. $3800 ANA business class purchased one month in advance. If I purchased it further out, it probably would have been a bit cheaper. This is probably one of the cheapest business class flights for this route. Most others are five or $6000. I’ll have to try something other next time as I have known flown ANA business three times. United and American business class was more expensive and not as good. I really want to try emirates or Singapore airlines but those tickets are closer to about 6000 or $7000.
