Yes! Perfectly acceptable to dress professional. If you an applying to be a student at a school, "dressing up" won't hurt you. If you are applying to work at a school, dressing professionally will help make a good first impression.

But I remember in a previous video you said that it's ok to tell the interviewer that you are nervous, so are you contradicting yourself or what?

Good point! It really depends. It’s okay to admit you’re nervous, but if we dwell on it too much it can hinder us. I’d recommend saying something like, “I’m feeling nervous and excited for this interview, I’m looking forward to this opportunity.” Not having any nerves and showing up as TOO confident can have the same backfiring effect as being too nervous.

Great question! Short answer: yes. Long answer: When it comes to your jeans, make sure they are "nice." Do not wear jeans with holes or rips in them. They should be plain and simple. When it comes to your sweater, same concept. Keep it plain and simple, and make sure it's in good shape - no rips, tears, stains, etc. Good luck with your next interview!
