I have lived in La Palma, Canarias for over 2.5 yrs and I totally agree that Spain is a great place to live, especially in retirement. Food and wine are terrific here. Quality of life is good. It's tougher for working people, but still I think there are few Spaniards who would choose to leave Spain if they have a job.

Spain: Pros 1) Stronger family values 2) Better food quality 3) Better country benefits 4) Way better public transportation 5) More social life 6) More social freedom 7) Way more history 8) More affordable USA: Pros 1) More jobs ( it doesn't mean good jobs) available 2) Have the right to have a gun 3) Stronger laws against crime and protection of private property
