In my experience as a white person in SA, there is little to no racism in the streets. The problem is the government and the media. The media exaggerates racism and disharmony. Apartheid was bad, but all people had access to proper education and clean and functional hospitals. My father build many schools which were burned down and my mother was a nurse for many years. I have fond memories of going to the hospital and playing with the little black children. I remember how clean it was and the relationship among the whites and blacks in general was peaceful. If my parents went out we were left in the care of a black male gentleman, 3 little girls and one boy. He was someone we loved and trust, never had any fear of harm being done to us. Apartheid we experience today is worse than ever, it kills people, all races in South Africa are suffering.

In general, African communities are gated because they are prone to property theft attacks, etc. I'm saying this from my experience as a Nigerian and I think Africa in general need to look within ourselves and ask why we all have subjected ourselves to a state where we leave in gated, high walls, barbed wires, guard dogs communities for security. Not saying it does not exist elsewhere i.e. western countries but it is much more significant in African nations, almost like it is normal.

Very interesting and sympathetic vlog. Very accurate. Shows most South Africans of all races are friendly and well meaning. What may be of interest to outsiders is that despite their prominent role whites only comprise about 8% of the population. This is declining through low white birth rates, white immigration and affirmative action. The vlogger tactfully did not mention our biggest problem - the fact that we are losing the war against corruption.
