I just watched this video now. I also wanted to do this for my civic but I need to make it run first due to a busted ecu(a capacitor in it to be exact).

Have a tired 2000 civic which I thought about dumping. You have inspired me though and I'm already talking with my nephews to test their interest. Kudos

I'm planning to do the same thing with my 2008 scion XB.. Chicago winter is crazy this year.

It definitely makes a different BUT it rides really hard too 😂 id recommend doing the lift and putting softer springs in. And good quality tires go a long way in the winter

Good thing the e ay junk broke in the shop and not on the road but that really sucks i plan on lifting my 08 civic over the winter!

It's such a blast. Definitely rides more rough obviously. But super worth it depending on the look your going for

Hey, where do you get the good quality lift kits? I have a 2008 honda civic, and would like to lift it. thx-

What's the biggest tire you've been able to fit after the spacers?
@matthewnewton82772 жыл бұрын
Right now I'm running 185/65/r15. But I can probably go ONE size higher.

What’d you do about the torsion bars?? I’m trying to work out how I’m lifting my 95’ civic ex sedan. I want to keep the torsion bars for the handling and daily drivability, so I planned on making or having the connectors machined to maintain the stock position of the torsion bar, unless you think I can get away with a delete lol. I also had an idea to use moog adjustable camber upper ball joints on stock upper control arms but having a spacer that extends the ball joint to compensate for the angle created by the strut spacer, also compensating for the camber issues on the lower control arm and working with the tolerances because the mounting point of the upper control arm can’t be lowered. Also what about the front lower control arm? Did you end up needing a longer/custom one?
@matthewnewton82773 жыл бұрын
So the only thing i have done so far was put the spacer in the front and rear. Also flipped the rear LCA. I bought a camber kit but both front and rear broke on me so I returned it. I do suggest getting adjustable control arms. If your going to lift it using the same kit I got then I wouldn't worry to much about making custom front LCA. For the torsion bar, I never touched that

@@matthewnewton8277 did the axles ever bind with this lift?
@matthewnewton82772 жыл бұрын
Not this one so far. I guess you are lifting it, which will shorten the life of it axle to a point. But I've never noticed any binding. I'm sure if you go any higher it might start

I was very annoyed that I waited until the end and you didn’t show us how the car looked lifted and with no jack stands

The time it took you to write that comment, you literally could have just clicked on the next video and watched 30 seconds of it to see the results 😂
