The People's Court

The plaintiff brings his ex-girlfriend to court. He claims she stole his car when they broke up, and now she won’t give it back. He’s suing for the value of the car and stolen property. The defendant argues the plaintiff gave her the car as a gift, so she doesn’t owe him a thing.

@@ESBEAUTIIthey’ll pay and then raise your rate astronomically even if the accident isn’t your fault. And if it is your fault good luck ever paying a reasonable rate again in your life. Buy the wrong color car and you’ll get fucked by them too. Why are you defending them?
@mishcka525
@mishcka525 10 ай бұрын
Car insurance is regulated by the state you live in. The state approves or disapproves of the rate. It's based off statistics and of course inflation among other things. If people commit insurance fraud, they are the ones who unfortunately cause the rates to go higher because the insurance company is providing rates based off incorrect statistics. So if someone is a horrible driver (multiple accidents and multiple tickets) but they get insurance under someone else's name who is a good driver, the insurance company is prepared to collect money based off of a lower rate for a good driver. "This person doesn't cause accidents, doesnt get tickets, so less likely to cause an accident. We will charge them less." But these bad drivers are out there lying and causing more accidents and getting tickets making them riskier drivers. So now, there isn't sufficient money to pay for these accidents, so everyone's rates get impacted and their prices go up to cover the cost.

You obviously dont have a clue what you are talking about. If they were committing insurance fraud that is something Judge Judy could not have brought into the case as material facts. By the way, you make it sound as if you know Judge Judy so well with your personal relationship that you can tell exactly what she would do. For one, these show are arbitration with the claim of being a small claims court. Second, they search small claim court docket and call people asking them if they want to be on the program with the claim that if the person wins they will pay the judgement. People dont appear on here for free. Everything in life is an illusion and people think what they see is what things are when its not. I have been called on numerous occasions about appearing on these programs

Mathis is does curse people out, but his cases don’t always follow the law. He follows how he feels, and just pays accordingly sometimes. What I do like about Milian is that she generally follows the law, and the law says he can only get the blue book value. Although, I agree this is one time I would’ve liked to have seen that. But based on the defendant’s behavior, she probably would’ve had to have been thrown out of court because she seems like the type who would go toe to toe with someone regardless.

Yes the show pays the judgement. There has to be some incentive to air their dirty laundry all over the Internet. If the show was not making payments most people would choose to have their case in a normal court anonymously.

The guy saying "no comment" like he is miffed is crazy. He is very fortunate that he won because he was committing insurance fraud. I hope the insurance company follows up and either black-lists him, or sues him. That kind of scammer increases insurance rates for the rest of us.

This is what happens when you try to do an end run around the system. Never, never, ever put something of your's in someone elses name to try to beat the system. Although I was on the plaintiff's side, I was surprised by the judge's ruling. It was in her father's name. I think she ruled that way because the defendant lied and directed her father what to say, when he previously told the cops something else.

Of course he’s not happy, and the fact that the judge clearly caught her and her enabling father in a lie should have resulted in a ruling that reflected everything the plaintiff asked for. She’s a nut. And vindictive. But his hands aren’t clean as a result of the insurance fraud, so sometimes we’ve gotta take an L when we ourselves aren’t 💯. I still empathize with THE PLAINTIFF.
