Love these insights. I've never had an athletic career or upbringing that went beyond 2 hours of PE in school and sportive hobbies (pretty standard here in Belgium I'd say) so this is super interesting to me.

Have you changed your thoughts around this at all Will?

I love your content. I have a follow up question. What about more skill heavy sports/positions which require a lot more time/practice? These sports aren't typically as heavily reliant on athleticism, compared to skill. Weightroom training would typically negatively affect these practices more drastically than other sports. How would you structure training then? I imagine (many) fewer hard days.

Yeah to get really specific I’d have to know the athletic and the sport they play. But generally for sports that are heavily reliant on skill over athleticism, I think treated their training as a way to improve health and longevity is a good strategy.

Hi Will, I have your HOSS Project. How can I tailor it if I am IN-SEASON?

Thoughts on game day training?

I'm all for it. As long as it is dosed appropriately. Some sprints, jumps, olympic lifts and even squats at moderate loads.
