Nice video! I am about to “Lower” my Jimmy. Someone put a rough country 4” lift with blocks in the back. It looks like a squatter!. I am now going to remove that lift, and install a full spring 2” Tuff country easy ride. I bet the rough country front lift, which I bought it with, is more like 6”. Also, being on blocks with the stock rear springs, I’m sure it’s sagging because of that in the rear.

Yeah, good move. Blocks are pretty terrible. They work to get you the height but offer nothing for flex and if you give it a few hard launches you might break your springs. I wouldn't be surprised if the rear stays about the same height with the "smaller" springs. Good luck!

@@ericsworkshop thanks, that’s what I’m guessing, overall the rear will be the same, but the front will come down. Hopefully

The blocks are made lower to level out the pick up trucks, that are higher in the rear. Makes the truck sit more level. So K5s end up lower in the rear.

Do notice more play in your steering, and does your truck seem to wonder more on the road now?
@ericsworkshop Жыл бұрын
I don't have any more play in the steering, but it is definitely a bit more floaty on the road. It's not that bad but I have to focus more when driving on twisty mountain roads.

did u have anything with drive shafts to short
@ericsworkshop7 ай бұрын
Not with a lift that small, I think you only need to worry about that when you get bigger than 4 inches. You may also need to drop or clock your transfer case with a bigger lift.

Great video, did you do one wheel at a time?

what was that arm you put on the steering box? great job by the way
@ericsworkshop Жыл бұрын
Skyjacker part CA50, its a drop pitman arm to correct steering geometry. It's not required for the 2.5 in. lift but recommended. You can also get other ones from other brands.

@@ericsworkshop thank you my steering issue I think might be fixed I 78 Chevy K5 had a 4 inch lift put in but the Pitman arm was not replaced had problems steering it’s on order. Thank you for your video.
