You are giving me confidence to make alterations more than shortening straps to raise the neckline! I've been sewing almost 50 years now & was always discouraged from changing the designs or fit. Thank goodness that type of thinking is evolving!! This looks great on you!!😍 TFS

Heheh of course you have a fourth one cut out! This was a really nice video. I love the way you combine so many learning methods, video plus progress notes plus inset photos. I know it must be a lot of work, but it all works together so well and I have no trouble following what you're doing. That pattern in its original form was pretty and striking, but didn't look wearable. You made it wearable. Thank you, Karina 💚💚💚

The dress is totally gorgeous but I know what I’m comfortable with by now. The fabric of the fourth one is so pretty, I hope I can get to it soon.

@@LiftingPinsandNeedles Oh me too ... I always enjoy seeing the fabric pairings you come up with. I can't see that the dress, as a dress, would suit you (based on the things you seem to enjoy wearing). But the top? Brilliant. 💚

Just a question: it seems Love Notions only give measurements in imperial. Is that correct or does the instruction include metric as well? Not a real problem, just an extra step for me. Trying to get used to inches in sewing, but still have to check it every time. P.s. took the plunge yesterday and bought my first Itch to Stitch patterns. Via your link of course 😘
@LiftingPinsandNeedles4 жыл бұрын
Yes only imperial. I’ll suggest they add metric too. Yes it’s some extra maths. I grew up on metric and that’s how my brain works, so imperial is a little more maths.

I try to focus a lot on the fit shown in photos as a reference and this definitely needed to be changed. I put the straps in their full length in my non wearable muslin and boy oh boy was it low.

Hello. I’d love to try the Wide Strap Maxi Dress, went as far as giving Pmag my email address. Then I saw they don’t offer an option for letter size, so I didn’t download. That’s a shame, but I’m glad you told us about it!

You can still print with letter. The margins are printed on each page anyway, they aren’t trimless. It won’t make a difference for you.

I love the alternations you made to this pattern. Did you curve the bottom hem to the front piece as well? That wasn't clear to me and when looking at your pieces all laid out for cutting, it looks straight. Thank you!
@LiftingPinsandNeedles3 жыл бұрын
I mentioned that on the black and white one, I didn’t curve it and it’s shorter than the others because it was made with scraps of fabric. That’s the layout you saw and it’s straight.

Love this pattern and how it looks as a top on you! I just downloaded it, can't wait to start on a muslin but I have no printer paper lol. I think I want a mini length that I can wear with leggings and I'll have to adjust the bust a little more since I'm a DD.

I love this as a top! The dress made me feel like I was wearing a sack. lol I have been wanting to ask a question about wearable muslins. I have been making them, but some I didn't like how they came out. What do you do with them?
@LiftingPinsandNeedles4 жыл бұрын
I don’t make “wearable muslins”. That way I’m not pressured or dissatisfied if they are not actually wearable. I use scraps of fabric to make “not wearable muslins”. Then I reuse large enough pieces for other pieces on other patterns... for more muslins. They keep on giving that way.
