“These wheels have soul”. They sound like an excellent investment and (don’t hate me) *well rounded* at a super comfy price point

I had some of the same on a ridley noah fast with dtswiss 240 hubs. That bike was a rocket. The rims were comfortable, fast and light. They were great while i was on rim brake.

your setup is always so sick and i love seeing these videos. I'm still rocking those mavics from your bench. love the channel so far. side note, need to bump up those vocals.. it's clear but about half of where i expect from other videos.

also, yeah, china takes about a month off for cny and harvest fest. used to have to plan around that when calculating shipping. theres definitely a difference between quality chinese made and 'cheap chinese' stuff.

I just bought a set of Recon Pro MTB wheels, custom spec from Light Bicycle. 1440g at a fraction of the price of any big name brand. They're excellent and the service was outstanding.

SUBSCRIBE NOW - How does this guy only have 4k subscribers? I've watched several of these videos and I truly appreciate the every-man practical reviews. Not everyone is training for the Tour de France, some of us just want to get better and beat ourselves. Keep up the great work!

I had a set of these exact rims laced up at my local shop last year cause I wanted to try something more aero but didn't want to get a new bike. Not only are these fast but the whole bike seems to feel so much more stable than with my old wheels. The two wheelsets are fairly close, same hubs (White Industries t11) and same spokes (Sapim). Loved my bike before but was getting an itch for a potential upgrade, after I put these on it just felt like a whole new ride.

I know exactly what you mean. It's that U profile that helps break up turbulence and keeps the bike planted. Even in crazy cross winds my bike feels almost glued to the road.

Heyyy Dobbs, , thanks for this Awesome review on the wheels. I'm going to look into them for my bikes. Also, what kind of camera did you use to create this video? Thanks.

Thanks I'm glad you liked it! I am actually just shooting on an iPhone 14 pro max but running through FilmIC and the DJI app for gimbal shots.

Thanks for sharing man. I've talking to them via mail, But I little bit sceptic about letting them build around my DA 7800 hubs. I have a these hubs on a tubular C50mm rim. but It cost me more, every time I get a puncture. I think I'm will go for the 45mm. I want to keep the lightness of the bike. ( Bianchi 928L), and with the benefit of "aero" gain. lol Ride save

From my friends who told me about them and their teammates who sent them hubs to build around I've heard nothing but good things and having a great experience with them. Definitely something I want to do one day but these wheels are truly exceptional for the price. I don't think there is a better bang for your buck out there.

Thanks for the video review! Quick question: How loud are the RAR9 hubs on your wheelset? I'm hoping they are relatively quiet (or at least not loud). As you can tell, I'm not a "louder is better" guy when it comes to hubs and some hubs are crazy loud these days. Thanks!
@dobbscycleworks Жыл бұрын
I'd put it probably a 5/10, for me it's not too loud, not too quiet, kinda just right

Hey Dobbs, very useful vid! How much rear wheel frame clearance does your 2013 Tarmac have to accommodate these wheels and the 25s you mounted on them? Say, if you measured the distance between the chainstays at the point behind the BB where the wheel rolls through. I have a roughly similar era Spec road bike I’m considering these wheels for - wonder how translatable your experience might be to my frame.

Very good question! I will have to check later on tonight but I will try to take some exact measurements and even get a few photos for you!

No worries. Rim-brake wheels/bicycles won't die that fast. It's 2024 and even Colnago has new rim-based frame. Yes, not a cheap candy to have. Some say Time and few others got something as well. Possibly show up in 2025.

I saw that! Bold move but could shift the industry a bit and I wonder if other brands will follow suit.

So these are tubeless wheels? How do I order? It asks me for "hub model" - I have a cannondale CAAD 12, what should I choose? So complicated
@dobbscycleworks11 ай бұрын
Most of their wheels are tubeless ready but you can run tubeless wheels with tubes if you choose. Shoot them an email with what you’re looking at and what bike you have and they can make a hub recommendation based on that! It’s a lot and can be really confusing at first but they’re insanely helpful with picking exactly what you need! I don’t know for sure if the CAAD 12 has their weird dishing like my new SSE but they should be able to advise on that too. Good luck!

I definitely should have upgraded to the grooved surface. These aren’t bad at all paired with their brake pads (haven’t tested any others yet) but my friends who did the grooved surface and race in all conditions say it is absolutely fantastic.
