Dear Hafthor, if you can remember that legendary spine breaking 300kg Deadlift when you were 20 years old and now as *the World Record Holder of the 501kg Equipped Deadlift (ATWR) and 474.5kg Elephant bar Raw Deadlift,* to calling a 310kg Deadlift for 4 reps, 3 sets "a light session", your journey is an inspiration to many a number of people around the world who believe in themselves. Furthermore, it would be absolutely fantastic if you can break the *465kg Standard bar Raw Deadlift World Record* of Jerry at SMOE (if you get pushed by the other competitors). 100% you can, you got this, Koma Svo Hafthor!

@@ShinoxSturmreiterDesTode I'd say he might need go get close to the raw record to win, because I'm guessing the best guys aside from Thor will be in the 440 to 455kg range. That's close enough for him to just go 11kg higher and break it. Definitely not the 505 though.

12:29 Wanted to share a glimpse of weight tossing history and why Hafthor is universally regarded as the greatest weight tosser to have ever lived: Most of you might only know about this *15 kg (33 lb) keg* when you hear 'keg toss' (specially if you are someone naïve who thinks wsm is the only competition there is). This event's WR currently shared by Mitch, Tom and Wesley Derwinsky at *7.76 m (25 ft 5 1⁄2 in)* was previously held twice by Brian and twice by Hafthor, which dates back to 2015). But there are 2 more keg for height distinctions whose history goes way back to Highland games. And you guessed it right, Hafthor holds the WRs in both of them. *12.5 kg (28 lb) keg over 8.54 metres (28 ft 0 in)* (2014 New Hampshire Highland Games) _Hafthor has broken this world record a total of 7 times with both 'American 15.5 gallon keg' as performed during 2014 New Hampshire Highland Games and 'European 50 litre keg' as performed during 2014 SCL China's Guinness World Records dual and 2014 Guinness World Records dual in Italy_ *25 kg (55 lb) keg over 6.0 metres (19 ft 8 in)* (2012 Icelandic Highland Games) *And I have a gut feeling that Hafthor will be pushed at the SMOE 15 kg keg event and he will beat Mitch, Tom and Wesley to secure a clean sweep in all 3 Keg for height WRs.* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Other than above Hafthor is also world famous for his: -- Highland games one arm weight over bar - 25.5 kg (56 lb) over 6.17 m (20 ft 3 in) WR in 2022 Rogue Invitational. _Hafthor has broken this world record a total of 12 times ever since he did it first with 5.85 metres (19 ft 2 in) at 2014 New Hampshire Highland Games_ -- Sandbag over bar - 45.4 kg (100 lb) over 4.57 metres (15 ft 0 in) WR in 2017 Arnold Strongman Classic And the memorable: -- 8 kegs (18-25 kg) over 4.9 m (16 ft 1 in) bar in 16.35 sec WR in 2014 World's Strongest Man.

6:12 One of several pertinent reasons why I reiterate Hafthor Julius Bjornsson as the Strongest Man to have ever lived is because in these 4 bread and butter movements, no human has ever achieved an actual 1 rep max Supertotal than Hafthor's 501 (1,105) Deadlift, 460 (1,014) Squat, 250 (551) Bench and 213 (470) Overhead for an astounding 1,424 (3,140).
@liljess12083 ай бұрын
Prime eddie hall was the only one who could have matched that. Thor and Eddie are the two strongest ever in terms of raw static strength just as you have mentioned with these 4 movements. While Big Z and Brian are the two overall GOATS
@Nirsterkur3 ай бұрын
@@liljess1208 Nah, nobody matches that. Let me elucidate why: *PEAK BRUTE STRENGTH:* Deadlift, Squat, Bench and Log: Brian: [467.5], [410], [245*], [211] = 1,333.5 Eddie: 500, [405], 280, 213 = 1,398 Zydrunas: 440, [453*], [286], 228 = 1,407 Hafthor: 501, [460], 250, 213 = 1,424 For Americans: B: [1031], [904], [540*], [465] = 2,940 E: 1102, [893], 617, 470 = 3,082 Z: 970, [999*], [631], 503 = 3,102 H: 1105, [1014], 551, 470 = 3,140 Key: Numbers which are within [ ] brackets are done during training or not sanctioned by a governing body and not infront of a credible referee. The * indicates that no actual 1 rep max was done but a double (2 reps) were converted into a speculative 1RM using a standard 1RM calculator. Below are only claims/ no video proof: - Z's Squat and Bench - B's Squat - E's Squat Therefore nobody can prove them with irrefutable evidence, and nobody knows whether they actually happened or not. Additionally, 1. Brian's Squat is not even source quoted, it's just mentioned in Wikipedia without any reference (where any unauthorized person could have edited). 2. Eddie also has a 300 (661) Bench but it's equipped. 3. Zydrunas's Deadlift is 1 inch deficit. However his best standard height DL is lower than that: 435 (959).
@davidkosiba6243 ай бұрын
I kinda hate Eddie and his whole personality but I think he is on pair with Thor at the moment if we look at the 4 lift but mostly because Thor didn't go to his limit in deadlift and bench yet , he could have lifted 10kg more at that 501 day and with proper training could bench maybe 280 , that would definetly put him way above Eddie since bench and overhand are the only 2 category where he beats Thor (only with barbell tho which is strange, Thor is actually stronger with dumbells) , If Thor is indeed stronger than every which is very likely from what we saw so far by his return then I have no doubts that he will improve his own log and deadlift records , and maybe he will go for a squat record too sometimes , but I doubt he will ever attempt a huge bench for obvious reasons
@Nirsterkur3 ай бұрын
@@davidkosiba624 Mark my words, in 2025/26 Hafthor will surpass all 4 of his PRs on this.
@thatguyfrommars37323 ай бұрын
You're mixing and matching raw and equipped lifts, push presses and strict presses. Hafthor's best strict press with a barbell (at least that I'm aware of) is 200 kg, and his best raw deadlift (elephant bar + straps) was 480 kg (with bare hands - 410). Knee wraps also add ~10% to a squat at the SHW level. You can't make a strongest ever list without him, but in these 4 movements there have been others who have done more than Hafthor.

He should fix the bar he lifts the stone over. As it is now, it makes it easier for him. Giving him a false sense of how easy/hard it is to lift the stone over the bar. To avoid to bending the bar, he should lift the stone over, not rest the stone on the metal bar.

Hopefully we get to see 435kg for 2 reps next week, then in 2 week intervals we get 445kg for 2 reps, then 455kg for 2 reps. If we see that timeline, 455kg for 2 will be done about 2 and a half weeks out from competition. I feel like 505kg is in the bag if we get a timeline like this.
@MrRm7473 ай бұрын
Most likely singles only going forward. 435-450-465, or 435-455-475 if he really wants to hit 505. But I think Thor will pull 470-480 at SMOE to secure an event win and not attempt 505
@Nirsterkur3 ай бұрын
What Sebastian has recommended Hafthor is 435 (959) for a single on this Friday (7 weeks out). And the week after that (6 weeks out) will be deload like this one (most probably 10 kg heavier) and on the following week (5 weeks out) Hafthor will go for a big single, a very big one! _Even though he could possibly break the ATWR at SMOE, it's a huge gamble and an unnecessary risk specially when 1. his main aim is to win the full competition to become the "Strongest Man on Earth", and 2. it will be RAW (and the ATWR is done Equipped). Besides, nobody will push him even to 465 (Standard bar Raw WR), let alone the ATWR. Having said that, there will be opportunities in future for Hafthor to break the ATWR. He also deserves a thumping financial reward for it._
@djpancake333 ай бұрын
