if the lever does not come off when you put the pin in the hole check if it has a hole on the other side of the lever, some of these levers have a hole on each side, only one of these holes have the push pin to release the lever. also on the side of the lever where you put the key in the lock you have to turn the key to the open position while pushing the pin.

It took almost an hour to remove the lever with the pin provided and it has been over the rose cover still has not come off. I wish that i had viewed the comments first.

here's how i do it, remove rose first, then push the tab that locks the level. less then a minute

Honestly, it was easy to remove the lever but only after i realised how it works. You push the pin in, pull out the lever about a millimeter and the take the pin out and the handle will pull off easy.

Once you see how the lever comes off it's easy. Until then it's baffling. Better instructions with a clear picture is needed.

NO ONE should buy this lock. Unless you want to spend hours trying to remove the lever. THIS IS GARBAGE!!!!!!!! The instructions are unreadable. So I found this video. Just confirming I'm doing what I'm supposed to. Don't but this!!!!! Did get it off... eventually. Instead of pushing pin in a pulling at same time. Try pushing in and then maybe it'll just come off. IDK, maybe that's how it works. Eventually it came off. OMG - I have this thing installed, but the handle doesn't want to lock back in place. This is a sick joke. Finally done. It will eventually work. If haven't used this b/f, it's a learning curve and not as simple as the video. I think the problem is that everything is explained like garbage. They needed a 6 minute video. Instead they gave 3:26.

@@UniversalHardware Update. It took an hour to get the lock on. It's not that the product is defective or even hard to install. It's that the instructions are non-existent. To get the handle off - push in with the pin. then withdraw the pin and take handle off. If doesn't work at first, just try a few times. Don't try to push in and simultaneously pull handle off. To get the plate off, can use a small flat head screwdriver, no problem. It does not just come off as in the video. The door handle is going to latch onto the cylender with the tab part facing outward. If the tab is facing inward, then the door handle will latch on the wrong way. So make sure that is pointing out. Otherwise, the product is fine. For the cost of the item and the labor it must take to answer people's questions, you'd think it would just be better business to provide proper instructions, or at least film a youtube video with someone actually installing it and going over these issues that are coming up.
