Thank you Mr. Wright. Glory to God. I love how John was fallowing all along the Genesis account of Jesus. Jesus was the Genesis light even when the sun was not yet created. The Physical and Spiritual light. Revelation speaks about Jesus being our light and there will be no need for the sun. The Lion and the Lamb will eat grass together.

Thank you. Beautifully arched together from the beginning of creation to revelation. Now we need the arch to our life. How to become a healing presence in this world? The vocation to all of us, never mind which denomination or religion. How to be transformed and how to let the kingdom of God shine through us.

So so so beautiful! THANK you! I was reading your translation of the Bible a few days ago and I had a question about - I think it was 2 Timothy 3:5 “holding on to a pattern of godliness but denying its power.” I can look it up online somewhere, if you do not have time to answer. I was praying to understand what that means. It might have been another passage too. You see, I had a more modern book that is somewhat similar to the meditations of Marcus Aurelius and the wisdom always calms me down, but then if the philosopher is not pointing people back to Jesus Christ, then I just don’t want to recommend the book sometimes. Or I ask God “do you want me to be reading this?” It started to become a moral quandary! I am a psychologist in my profession - I LOVE how CS Lewis clarifies in Mere Christianity, to accept the good parts of psychology but throw out all the stuff Freud or anyone else is saying regarding their own philosophies. Lewis makes it so clear. I understand it is nuanced - but I never want to promote any kind of new age book -even if it had 80% deep truths in it. Anyways, forgive me if this is too long! God will provide someone to answer this with me /for me and for others I teach - if you do not have the time. Peace to you and God’s blessings!

Good to see Prof NT Wright explaining the theology behind the point (Jesus is light of the world) by connecting the dots between John 1 and Gen 1 correctly, in perfect alignment with our firm/apologetics ministry’s following theological thesis -- How God created both quantum and classical universes from QVF(Gen 1:1-3 and John 1) by allocating its 144 (137+7=68MP+68AMP+Higgs) spectral nations (Rev 14:1) to Angels, fallen Angels and humans who are respectively mapped to dark matter, dark energy and regular matter/light (Deuteronomy 32:8), so that humans (including the whole classical universe) can get born again and again using the born again explanation of Jesus (John 3:1-21) through the body mass of the “firstborn Jesus Christ using the Higgs mechanism of Paul" (Col 1:15) before being perfected by Thomas Aquinas’s theological formula (Grace perfects nature) and Luther’s reformation formula (Simul Justus Et Peccator - meaning we are simultaneously righteous (in soul and spirit dimension of quantum universe) and unrighteous (in the body dimension of classical universe)? And one of the best ways to grasp this thesis is using our framework’s metaphorical view of Trinity ( let me repeat the metaphor part) God the father = The glory of WORD exhibited by Alpha or fine structure constant using our CPT function mechanism Holy Spirit = The field dimension of Higgs hovering over the waters or quantum fluids Son = The particle dimension of Higgs hovering over the waters or quantum fluids And using the question Why our “i-TOE driven Acts 17 bridged integrated reformation in collaboration with all denominations and worldviews(& yet not compromising our faith)” is the best way to execute the great commission, so that we can save the depravities of both people and planet with a quantum leap of productivity and sustainability, as truly intended by scripture? I know it is lot to unpack here - and so, let us dive deeper in 5 parts via this LinkedIn article (www.linkedin.com/pulse/why-our-itoe-driven-acts17-bridged-integrated-wall-best-prabakar-ckwwc/) Welcome complementary POVs🙏

This is so beautiful! Yes, everyone has some light, but most people in the world are stumbling in darkness. Your analogy of the lighthouse is especially poignant: when we keep the light focused on ourselves, we fool ourselves that we are being the light, but we cease to dent the darkness. We in American Ethnic Ministries face this every day: Christians go to church and buy and sell books about other faiths but are deaf to the call to reach the Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs in our regions. We have this right now with a small city in Northern California. It is a very Christian place by USA standards. Everywhere you go you meet believers. Nearly 200,000 people of an Asian religion descend upon it every year the first weekend in November. Yet rather than see that God is making it easy for them to fulfill the Great Commission and going out, locals hide behind locked doors and keep the light to themselves. Volunteers must come from across the USA to meet the need. Please PRAY that this situation will change, not only for this November in California, but everywhere in the West!

Does N T Wright offer a video for complete beginners? I mean serious people who cannot realistically connect to the vision or the story told by N T Wright and the language he uses, beautiful though it is. The world we experience does not seem connected to the world of his sermons and lectures. I am of course a product of modern Western culture. I dare to ask because I admire his intellect and learning.

Now take "light" out of any moral context, so that John is talking only physics. Then put his description into Paul's law and grace argument of adversarial-or rather, "complimentary" dynamics. So grace is complimentary to law; faith is complimentary to judgment, Spirit is complimentary to flesh and light is complimentary to darkness. How do the two contrary "realms" come together as one? The Gospel isn't about one realm obliterating the other. It's about one overcoming the other. So grace overcomes law; faith overcomes judgment; the Spirit overcomes the flesh, and light overcomes the darkness. Was this not what Jesus demonstrated as an example for us to follow? So, for instance, Jesus judged the Pharisees without mercy, but the grace that comes through faith (a son trusting his father) prevailed.

But what does light mean? Life? Goodness? Holiness? All of them? How is darkness a thing not just the (relative) lack of light, if it's a thing how and why was it created? Frustrating!
@johannamills51359 күн бұрын
@@rchap-grab I don’t think there is an easy answer. But choosing goodness, kindness, compassion is life giving. I say that out of experience, as well as many other people. Why a world is created where things are upside down, where letting go becomes enormously enriching, where owing up to one’s mistakes gives freedom- I do not know. But that path of letting go becomes a path of light. One step at a time.
@tedclemens40939 күн бұрын
Perfect question! Consider taking light out of the usual moral context. So Jesus is the light-and the "example" for us to follow as disciples. What did he do that was different from those he criticized (the righteous according to law)?
