What do you think about the situation of Japanese? If even in UK you have such a situation, how can we be a better country without any background of Christianity? Thank you very much for answering this question?

Dr Wright your videos are excellent, you express Christian teachings so accurately. I'd love to hear your thoughts and meditations on the topic, 'Where is Christ Today?'. I think it would help adjust some traditional denominational views that Jesus is far away in a heavenly place, not on earth. Whereas, Christ was resurrected, maintaining physical form and [Luke 17:20,21] continues to be near, walking among us to this very day, building the new Jerusalem to be revealed in the New World [Matthew 12:6]. It might encourage people to feel redemption is very real, that expressing faith, that "Jesus is the Son of God", may actually lead them to meeting Christ in the flesh. To understand that when He breaths Holy Spirit on you, you will see the Kingdom of God [John 3:3] and be part of His family [Matthew 12:49], shake His hand and go for some lunch. Thanks for your excellent work!

The wickedness is more over here than it is over there. In terms of cruel and warmongering leaders, that's our leaders far more than it's "their" leaders. Especially bearing in mind the Biblical definition of wickedness.

They built their tower going up as though it was going to the heavens....1. Meaning it was meant to appear or imply they had a strong or deep connection to heaven (cos due to the limitations of the human eyes, at some height the tower will be lost in the clouds and appear to still go further into the heavens) so their laws, ways ideas can't be challenged or can be assumed it's from God. 2. While Gods plan was to come tabernacle with man or come to man, theirs was in opposite or in contrast to the will of God, going to meet God. Thank you NT Wright these are my understanding from your videos.

Jesus lied about prayer. He said anything you ask in his name will be granted. If that was the case we wouldn’t need children hospitals. Science performed studies on prayer concluding a fifty fifty result.

What about the condoning and promoting of slavery? (Exodus 21 ). Jesus never said slavery was wrong. What about the rape, murder and genocide (Numbers 31:7-18). This is all evil and immoral. You definitely wouldn’t want children reading this.

When you read the Bible it’s embarrassing. It’s full of contradictions and conflicts. After the resurrection the gospel of Matthew has Jesus up in Galilee while Luke has Jesus in Jerusalem. In Matthew Jesus’s genealogy is different than Luke’s. In the nativity story Matthew has Jesus flee to Egypt while Luke has Jesus stay in Jerusalem then go to Nazareth. How can you actually believe this?

I believe that Jesus is God but i undestand that verse as God's wisdom is Jesus that he created first and then through him all the things are created. But with that logic Jesus isn't the God because he was created, he was born by the God the Father. What is your point of view to that? Thank you

I have very good reason to say, "No, God does not care about my work" or, if God does care about it, it is disapproval so he stopped me while demonstrating a lack of concern for vulnerable people in East End London. I had taken a relatively low level local authority job to work close to home and family and because, as a resident, I thought I had a call, in line with Jeremiah, to seek the shalom of the city. Age 45, I took a job mining data and developing performance monitoring tools for a local authority social care department. I, and my four or five colleagues who joined over the next 16 years, took lower than commercial payrates to ensure that what had been one of the worst performing councils in the country became one of the best (actually, in Adult Services, we were best in country before the rot began to set in. We did it by working way above our payrates to develop rock solid tools (with very out of date technology) to report on our social care data so front line teams could do their very best in such a needy area. Towards the end, a change of management brought in people who openly dismissed any robust data for whatever they invented to look good on a particular day. Our whole section was made redundant. Result was existing staff had no data from which to make intelligent decisions and they were back to being among the worst in country. I was fortunate in that I was just one year off retirement age so took it early. Others were snapped up by other authorities and providers who knew we were best. Not only did service levels plummet, but the remaining staff could not do a proper job, became frustrated, and left what was a toxic environment. I had expected to work till age 70+. A benefit for me was being on gardening leave then retired to finish refurbishing the house we had bought, gutted and extended. In effect, God showed indifference to the poor and needy of that borough and to the remaining staff who could no longer do a quality job. The authority realised its mistake and started trying to recruit new people to do what we had been doing... they failed because there is a very significant skills gap for such work and we already had our houses and mortgages from years ago. New people could not afford to take the jobs at that pay level. So, legally, we were not redundant and we could have sued them, but it would not have been worth the emotional effort. The decision makers were released a year or so later with some very high severance pay. My wife had a similar experience a year earlier and, as with me, the decision makers were let go a year later. Both our organisations lost fortunes in money, performance, and credibility with their clients. God does not necessarily care about your work or the people you are trying to benefit despite the platitudes I used to mouth to the contrary

Dear Professor Wright, Would it be okay if I asked you a question? I have a very special bible. It's a bible my grandmother gave to my father when you was young and I believe struggling with gambling and alcohol problems. My grandmother was very religious but my father not so much. But she thought it might help him. I don't think he ever read it, in fact I'm almost positive he didn't. When he died I received that bible. Even though I don't think he read it, it was important to him because of who gave it to him. As his only child he made sure I reviewed that bible in the event of his death. I love touching that bible and looking at it because I imagine my grandmother with love in her heart giving that to my dad. I do want to read that bible of course (No I haven't actually tried reading it yet) and I will but my question is this: I also have a bible that isn't standard or official I guess for lack of a better term. It is the bible but some of the words are different. It's a bible that translates I guess basically. It uses more common words to make it more understandable. I've just found you on KZbin and just listening to you talk gives me comfort and lowers my anxiety. You help me feel less afraid as I'm going through a terrible time right now. And although you're new in my life I really respect your opinion. This other bible I have, the one that uses different words sometimes to make it easier to understand, do you think it's okay for me to read that? And aside from your opinion, do you think God would be angry with me for reading it?

Excellent - an inspiring presentation of the Protestant work ethic, which is part of what makes the West great. Everyone in our organization self-supports, like Paul: we volunteer. Partly this is because reaching Middle East and Asian religions in the West is unpopular and poorly funded. But partly it is because the fact that we work gives us authenticity with those that we reach out to. Surprisingly, many of our best volunteers are medical professionals - doctors and nurses, with an occasional lawyer and teacher. (Almost never does a pastor or cleric of any kind join us.) Why doctors, nurses, lawyers? There is no need for high qualifications to reach out. I think it is because they are used to hard work, sacrificing for others, and have a sense of the reality that life ends.

Thanks a lot for sharing your wisdom. Your teachings are a blessing in many ways. Just felt like sharing my thought on the topic. In relation to work or my vocation what I do first is to fix my long term goal. Somebody said that confusion begins when we have more than one option. So the secret is to have a singlemindedness. To acheive that, we should seek and find what we need the most in this life? Through years of searching What I found out from my life is that the primary goal and purpose of every christ follower is to know him, to be like Him and to reflect His image on this earth. Realising that ultimate truth helps me to focus on choosing my short term goals( work and vocation). I will check whether my work or vocation is helping me to reach the ultimate goal of being in his likeness or is it taking away my time and energy and drawing me away from the goal. With that mindset I would be able to say no to many things and filter out the best options available. It also gives me a lot of freedom in decision making. "You are free to do any work, but remember all things won't lead you to God" I hope it helps atleast a few who are going through confusion in choosing careers! God Bless
