Very well done armies have always adapted to their environments in clothing and gear. Thank you very much keep up the good work. I do The colonial period/militia my kit is a blend of Native American and everyday 1770 clothes the research never ends, I’ve been doing this for 25 years and it never gets old always something to learn. I know it varied per unit, but did the 60th carry both a shoulder box and a cartridge box? I know by the AWI, most units had shifted to a shoulder box. Either way, excellent video, mate.

Hi, it’s a hat blank I bought and moulded around a conveniently sized bowl and then fitted with a band and liner. It’s petty simple to do and the end product looks pretty ok.

Great Video. I live in south Germany and my partner and I have been attending camps with a full Cotten tent for the last 12 years? The camp theme is American history, Indians Trappers, French war and Civil war. It seems I am the only Redcoat in south Germany. I copied my uniform which is sort of light infantry from 1775 however every other uniform I see is a long coat. I would like to send you a picture if that's possible for you to comment on.

Is your hat just a blank cut down? Do you know much about the use of Indian gear, other than leggings, used by the men?
