I can't believe how a show that has been carried by such a strong love story as Jamie's and Claire's (and such a powerful friendship as John Grey's and Jamie's) could come with such a crappy couple as Brianna and Roger. Brianna is so full of life and has such a steing character like her parents while Roger is just dull and boring. I have mixed feelings about Outlander due to this horrible pairing.

So true! Idk if in the books Roger is different but I totally hate him in the show. No chemistry with anybody, boring as fuck, not really charming, not funny or not even nice... To be honest, for a 20e century guys he pretty acts badly towards Brianna. In a wat that John seems so much more caring and understanding with her. Roger and Brianna do not feel like a couple. To be honest I'm annoyed by the female characters. Claire actually evolved with time and she stopped annoying me by season 4...and that's when Brianna came to the scene and started to annoy the fuck out of me too. The women are giving such a hard time to men on the show with their sulking and their hurt emotions. But the male characters are glorious. I love Jaime, lord John, Murtaugh and young Ian.

Thank you for this video. I just finished season 4, and, seriously... John Grey is one of the best, if not the best character of this show. And it is very clear that he has a special place for Brianna in his heart, because she is the daughter of the power couple that he admires and longs for. He is a very kind soul, and, really, I think he would be perfect for her. He is patient and only wants her best interests, literally getting engaged with her to buy her time. Not necessarily as a romantic interest (given his preferences), but as a husband. He clearly became her best friend, and, in many ways, she became his. He is her rock, her arm, her shoulder. And she is his new sunshine, his amusement. Also, she is coming from the future, from a time when homosexuality slowly becomes accepted -in this condition, she is the one woman who would be willing to accept him going elsewhere. Because she genuinely wants him to be happy. And given how perfect of a father he is to William, I know, and she probably knows too that he would be a perfect father to her child.

I love those two together. They are a much better fit than Roger and Brianna! Roger doesn't respect her wants and wishes and keeps making intrusive decisions (he doesn't want to have anything to do with her if she wont marry him, he doesn't tell her about the obituary). He is an egocentric selfish man who doesnt deserve Brianna at all. While Lord John Grey offers to marry her when being in a difficult situation despite his love for Jaime. He is a much better man.
