After training for 40 plus years . The best bodybuilders have the best physiques, using what weights feels right not necessarily the heaviest. Look a round any gym, the strongest on the bench won't have the best chest development or the biggest squatter wont have the biggest thighs

Yeah man that DY style Training was never best for me. I always got my biggest and rounded muscle using moderately heavy weight with a higher rep range even 15-20 for some sets.

As he said your body will adapted that weight this is enough to tell you why progressive overload is so important if you are not overload your muscles progressively then muscles will not grow 😃

I agree. I get smaller when i go high reps with lighter weight to failure. I train in the 6-8 rep range while stay 1-2 reps shy of failure on each set and Im way leaner and harder.

You get smaller by diet vise versa when we’re talking about bigger. It’s all about the the slow negatives, controlled positives, a good stretch and contraction, high reps, and time under tension.

I have always made my best gains with a moderately heavy weight and high reps. Idk maybe that's just me. Doing super heavy weight with low reps doesn't build much quality sixe for me.

I agree . A year ago I was going light and got lean . This year is a total flip , not as lean but instead of say 60 or 70 lbs each side on an incline press now gets jacked to 110 and there’s no more back pain , joint pain . Every once in awhile my knee will bother me but legs have mass and I ve been seeing all kinds of twig legged men with developed upper body .

Kali Muscle is huge as hell and he says reps is what makes you big. Maybe a combination of both, confuse the body.
