Given Adnams brewing pedigree and the fact that they have some pretty strong beers in their range including Broadside 6.3%, triple knot 10% and Tally Ho 7.2% suggests that its not a tax dodge more that their just trying to cover everybody's drinking tastes, I tried this once and it wasn't terrible although I wouldn't drink it again.

Used to like this David. Have they reduced the ABV? Keep up the good work

@@billclark2253 this is my first time of trying, so to speak. Alcohol carries flavour notes and a higher Abv may have given it a fuller flavour. I found this incarnation very lacking, don’t think I be having another in a hurry.

Yeah, not one of Adnams' best. Probably why you don't see it on cask anywhere! I'll stick to Ghost Ship! Cheers David!

Truth be told a very poor offering from a decent brewery.

Oh, here we go again: yet another low-abv ‘session beer’ that you’ll be bored with after one bottle. I understand that the breweries don’t want to pay the taxes, that the government imposes on the industry as an incentive for breweries to produce weaker beer. It’s just like the sugar tax from some years ago.
