This story explains how the rules are made. By sacrificing people in order to discover them. The lack of specific rules and having to depend on someone on the phone clearly doomed all the workers at the convenience store.

It makes us wonder about the countless casualties that preceded the introduction of safety measures in the modern world. How many children were either kidnapped or assaulted before we started inculcating in them _en masse_ the idiom, "stranger danger"? How many people were mauled to death by wild dogs before we learned not to make eye contact with a canine? How many people were crushed to death by falling debris in an earthquake before we learned that it was better to take cover under a table or a doorway if you weren't able to run outside into a clear area?

Not a bad story but it is missing a satisfying, why? Something most needed for such a story. All they had to do was simply make our MC arrive 5 mins before the shop closes instead of having all the time in the world to leave. Thn he's trapped after hours to see the nightmare unfold, reason? If they don't manage the place instead of just locking up an hour earlier for the night, an obvious plot hole > If you are knocked out for more thn a few seconds, you got brain damage and are not standing up on your own or reacting to anything as a fully functional person. Often I see the, "Knocked out," stuff in stories to lazily get a person in x position. It gets a tad bit over used/annoying. Over all its entertaining but with a few more re-edits it could have been great.

It also is a little weird that the narrator lives above the grocery store but he noticed nothing strange had happened all the other 6 or 7 times this grocery store was hit? That could mean he has neighbors who are also witnesses who are keeping it quiet, but I'd think there would be a lot of missing persons in his building? Wouldn't the most likely customers in the middle of the night be the other apartment residents? Very creepy and well written, but that part does leave some unanswered questions for me.

Great Story!!! It’s so rare to find one this well written! Oh, I hope the author keeps this storyline going, it’s so good. 🖤🖤 This is how “rules” creepypastas should be, it took from known entities and some of their personal lores and made rules to follow, told naturally, oh I so hope the writer makes this a series! The “monsters” that I think the characters were inspired by: Dracula, Hannibal Lecturer (or Dahmer), Jack the Ripper, Blackeyed Kids, Smiling Man, pixies, Pennywise, Wendigo, Rake, Lizard man, swamp thing… What do y’all think ?

>man sees nightmare creature stalking the aisles >man sees child and is incredulous that a child could be out alone AFTER SEEING A NIGHTMARE CREATURE This is one of the big issues I have with stories like this. Sometimes the protag is really stupid but also too smart as the story requires. That said, a very nice short story. I quite enjoy fey stories and this one screams "fey" to me, especially after "she's gonna wake one of them up" and there being thousands of potential options, and then the deer thing, and being in another plane entirely.

This was a good story! 😁 One thing I'm curious on is why would the information about the creatures cause the mysterious agency to be shut down if people learned of the creatures? I see it a lot in stories where a mysterious agency is involved, and it seems weird to me. If anything, I'd think the agency would receive more resources if more people knew about the creatures.

Your talent for voices, pacing, and emotion never ceases to amaze me! You should be a professional actor; you’re certainly good-looking enough to be a movie star. At the very least, major book publishers need to be hiring you to narrate audiobooks.

The second I hear your voice, my shoulders just drop in relaxation. I don't even realize I am that tense!🎉

Good thing. I was so disappointed to find out that narrators are being faked. Seems like being fake is becoming a norm that as an older person I'm not comfortable with. So thank for acknowledging that your terrific voice and your reading style is so effective for this genre.
