Lighthouses of Wales, Strumble Head, Pembrokeshire. early 1990's

This is a Lighthouse on a small Island in Pembrokeshire, Wales.
Access to the Island is by a bridge. Up in the lantern there is an inscription on the wall which is in 2 other Lighthouses that I know of. The inscription is Psalm 127, "Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it"
Which, in my opinion, isn't what you want to be reading in the midst of a big storm on a Lighthouse!
The other Lighthouses with that same inscription are the Eddystone and Trwyn Du.

could see the flash of strumble from my grandparents house , remember having a tour of the lighthouse before it was automated in 1980,happy days

💚😁👍Happy memories of when the light house keeper's would open up to the public 1980s. The light flash hits the side of our cottage Llanwand Strumble Head. Lovely spot we walk up to the light house often especially in wild winter 😁👍

I hope you have a wonderful Christmas Peter. If I was a festive keeper I would have a string of lights along that railing, any history of anything like that?
