This is an absolutely priceless tutorial. Multiple times here you had me inspired, especially as someone who has moved from cameras into Blender. It’s so much fun playing around with these. I was using regular lights a lot so Emission planes will be a new ones to try.

I really appreciate your efforts to teach others, anyways I have question, the part where you discussed the purpose of the light, the key light was 6000w and the fill light was 2000w, that means your object is so big, and I remember very well that I heard many times that the objects must be in real size not too big not to small just real life size, in this case the light values is going to be smaller and we can adjust it easily.

Excellent tutorial. Really enjoyed this. What are your thoughts on loading a gradient in to an alpha channel on your material applied to your polygon (plane) light source rather than shooting a seperate light through a gradient plane? I understand mimicking photography but wanted your views, pros and cons. For product visualisation I always use luminance with a gradient alpha so only 1 element to move (for speed).

hello Wenbo, and thx for your tutorials. For some reason, in my case, Suzanne money's shadow is not that dark, as it's in your case at 21:00 Can you explain what could be the reason? I have played with the distance of light, its size, and its power, etc, but the shades are still not as dark as in your case...I also made the world completely dark, but that doesn't help as well I then put some negative light and only then did the shadow become dark, like in your case at 21:00. So my question is did you use negative light?
