John is a godsend! Lighting is vital…and enhances the Château. Finding a good electrician is worth its weight in gold. The chandelier is spectacular…you’re right…it needs a dimmer switch! At first, when the cage was bare, I worried that the black chandelier was going to be too stark. But once it was covered in crystal, it’s absolutely perfect! ♥️♥️♥️ The outdoor lanterns go so perfectly with the chateau, it’s as if they were always there. 👍

@@patrickjourneytothechateau9452 Well winter has finally arrived with cold weather and a little bit of snow but nothing like the 70-90 cm snow Buffalo received on November 18th! Sadly we are still dealing with Covid and flu. You are very lucky to be living in the country side. What a smart decision to move to France although we would have welcomed you both with open arms in Canada especially in Eastern Canada. I have been doing my Duolingo French lessons daily (425 and counting) but undoubtedly full immersion is the best way to learn a new language. Cheers from chilly Toronto!

That is one GLORIOUS chandelier - it is so beautiful! I was a little nervous at first when you were putting on the crystals but I relaxed when I saw you weren’t swinging it around to put them on the other side. I did that after cleaning mine not realizing It was screwed into the ceiling bracket (and I was unscrewing it) until it crashed to the floor!!😢💖

Hi Christine. The chandelier is really imposing and pretty. I am still nervous. The hook in the oak beam was put there almost 400 years ago……. I ask every day for it to hold….. 😅. Good morning Patrick & Stuart, the chandelier is absolutely stunning, there is no doubt about that. it will have it's place for many years to come. Lights make such a difference to a room! Whether it is bright and sparkling or subdued like a table lamp, and outside, I cannot handle darkness at home during the night. Hi Angela. Thank you. The stolen gates were bought. Thank goodness they were not the ones Tony and Jane made. 🙏🏻. The gates we lost, although expensive, were for the large dog in out back. And we heard nothing. It either was a neighbor who knew someone who wanted a fence or the travelers here in the region. No insurance covers that unfortunately. I love your comment and thank you. 🥰😘🥰

The chandelier is magnificent, truly a work of art and has given de Colombe her elegance back. Well done guys such a big job, but the end result is so worth it. The outdoor lighting is lovely as well, it must look magical with warm pools of light shining at night.
