Many years I've thought there must be a way to build super pentatonic speed this way but never been able to create a satisfying lick. So what can I say, danke danke danke!!! Really great stuff.

Hey Claus. I so appreciate the fact that you move your other fingers out of the way so we can really see what you're showing us. It saves time and avoids the confusion of having to guess exactly which note or which string you're playing. Might seem like a small thing but it illustrates that you've got the mind of an excellent educator/instructor. Thanks man - I'm in!

Hi Claus. I started on this about 10 days ago. I immediately discovered that my fretting hand did not have the strength, flexibility, stamina, coordination nor enough fingertip calluses to pull this off. So using one of your principles I've only been working on the high E string with hammer-ons and pull offs. At first I could only do this slowly for about 30 seconds before hand cramping or lactic acid made me quit. I'd play something else for a bit to let my hand recover then right back to it. At first I could only fret with the pinkie - not enought strength. And I couldn't get a good pull-off sound with the pinkie because the ring finger was too week and not holding the fret down solidly - pretty depressing. Ten days later: more callus, more flexibility, more strength and stamina. I can now actually hammer-on and pull-off with the pinkie finger - still not always accurate and not quite as strong of a sound as I'd like. I can also practice this for several minutes at a time as a loop before needing a short break. I'm excited about the progress even if it's slow. I intend to MASTER this so that eventually I can play the whole thing. Thanks so much for the instruction and inspiration. Enough typing break - back to practicing!

While it covers simple basics, the way you spit this information out so effectively efficient, it 'dwarfs' many of the long winded & time consuming videos that already flood youtube. Great channel man, I wish you the best success and hope more folks follow your example of delivering such efficient dialogue with their instructional videos. ... love that scalloped fret board. Cheers!

Very nice breakdown thank you! I consider myself an intermediate guitar player and this is the kinda stuff im looking for. Although in my case i am left handed and i play a righty upside down kinda like JP cervoni, toni iommi or hendrix style. So i find with this exercise i have to tap where your pinky would hit and use my other two fingers accordingly if that makes any sense. But it is still very helpful to me. The one problem i have found playing the way i do is i have to convert the information to whats comfortable to my hand. Unfortunately but i have been playing this way for 20 years so theirs no going back lol. Still i play pretty good this way. What i do these days is buy lefty guitars and put a righty nut and change the string order. That way the guitars components are out of my way and the cutaway is still in my favor. Thanks! Rock on!!
