Sam, I’m a small KZbinr. I’m 40 and been on here since 2016. I hike, with some camping. I don’t get many comments, but from friends that watch. I have gotten negative comments on my TikTok page. One thing I’ve learned, life doesn’t stop with a negative comment. Your journey or mission doesn’t stop with a negative comment. I do know our minds can dwell on it, but it literally has no affect. When it comes to the gear you use, use what you can afford/use what you like. If something is cheaper and it works for you, it doesn’t matter. I have two dogs that I would love to include in more of my videos but I believe a lot of the trails that I hike would be difficult for the dogs. Keep bringing Killian on any video that you feel necessary. He’s the perfect addition. I very much enjoy your videos and the food you make makes my stomach rumble with hunger. Keep going dude, stay safe and stay healthy!

I think that kind of comment is validation for what you’re doing. You went full time because you wanted to do things that you couldn’t do unless you had more time to put into it. Your content changing since going full time is the whole point! My favourite channels to watch are OG KZbinrs who have been around for many, many years but have remained themselves. Their subscriber count never went to their head. What they do on their channels may have changed often, but the person has remained the same. Do whatever you want to do; it’s your channel. I have had a dog since I was 5 years old. I am now in my 60's. My dog always went camping with me. The ONE time she didn't, my wife and came home to having every curtain in the house torn down and ripped up! Lesson learned! I have always had German shepherds for dogs and they LOVE camping! Please keep your dog in the videos. It brings back fine memories to me considering we once had a black lab/shepherd/collie mix that looks exactly like your pup. Also a big time guard dog that was all bark and no bite. I love dogs in camping videos! It is PERFECT bonding time! On the equipment side of things, I have never thought your videos looked bad. I have always thought they looked very good considering all of the jerky videos I have seen, and the conditions you film under. Top notch in my opinion. I wouldn't stick around for the entire length of most of your videos if they were hard to watch. Besides that, I can feel that you like what you are doing and really enjoy it!

I think you hit it, Joe Robinet calls it "doing a Joe", it's one of the great things about his channel. Life is not perfect, you have to deal with it, makes your channel fun to watch also. I am 61 years old, disabled, watching from my hospital bed at home. I just found these videos being made by people like you, on camping. I found I really like watching them! I find them more interesting than watching movies! For one thing, when I was a kid, I enjoyed camping with my family. It brings back fun memories. WE camped at the beach in summer. I find winter camping, watching it fascinating. Although I do not know if I could tolerate it well, as I have Reynaud's Disease. A severe sensitivity to cold which causes poor blood circulation to the extremities when too it is too cold, which can result in the actual death of fingers/toes and such. Some people actually lose their fingers/toes to this disease. It gets worse in winter, a person has to stay warm. However, I love the winter time and love cooler temperatures. I love the snow, and love looking at the scenery. For me, this video, my favorite part was the lightening! Nice pictures of this phenonema called "heat lightenening." And I love that you take your dog with you and like you said, it is a learning experience. I wouldn't have a clue where to begin going camping. Those people that put out those comments need to stop. Sam, we take 2 dogs camping! We always carry a ratty old towel for wiping paws before entry into the tent. It’s also useful for wiping up leaks. We also use the small whisk broom and dust pan and agree with that subscriber’s recommendation. Your pup is adorable and will get better and better at camping with time. Also, several folks have referenced Tony at ABCamping-who I love-and he gives naysayers the boot! He’ll joke around and talk about how this or that will get negative comments, too. He says often for people to just move on if they can’t be respectful or don’t like what he does and I agree. It’s your channel and your livelihood -not ours. We don’t have any right to tell you what to do. People are free to simply move on. It’s a pity people have some sort of weird instinct to say negative things. Just keep being bananas!

Sam, I have to be honest, I have seen only a handful of your videos but I enjoyed all of them. I watch camping You Tubers a lot. I do have my favorites. However, I will admit that I quit watching 3 specific campers/outdoorsmen due to the lack of care for their pet. All three had a dog who was injured, one almost died and all due to a lack of responsible considerations. You however appear to care very much for Killian and take the necessary precautions with and for him. As far as your content goes, this is your channel and should represent YOU. As of this video you have 40k subs. 40,000 people watched, liked and keep returning. That's no small accomplishment in my eyes. You are entertaining, helpful and funny. My brother in law and his wife bring their dog with them when they go camping. She makes it more fun. I do enjoy watching the camping videos because it will give me ideas for our next camping trips. I spray skin so soft on the door and windows of our tents and it keeps the bugs out. We live in Mississippi so we have to deal with a lot of bugs in the summer.
