Lightroom's new Generative AI Remove - Does it actually work?

The promise of Lightroom's new Generative AI Remove Tool is that it can quickly and easily remove objects from an image. In reality, it only seems to work on very simple images. Let's explore this cool new tool together!!

Glad I could help! Are you getting better results than me? I think there is tremendous potential, but it needs a lot more work.

I think it has a ways to go..for removing objects PS AI is better, however I just got done with part one of my calendar shoot and I was dealing with subjects with all different skin shoes. The LR AI helped me smooth out those flash hotspots you get sometimes. So it basically saves a few photos for me

Thx for sharing your experience! Does it work differently than LrC? I would assume it's the same Generative AI engine. I've been goofing around with importing thru LrC and then using LR desktop/mobile for the images I want to edit. I hate having all of my images in the cloud, but nice to have the relevant ones.

@@RandumbTech to be honest I’ve only editing on mobile laptop but just Lr not LrC. On mobile it’s like 95% good. If you’re taking out stuff in the background (that no one will really notice) I usually run with the small % inaccuracy.

I'm fortunate that my company pays for it so that's not a real issue for me. If I did have to pay for it, I might think twice. I don't think it's more expensive in the long run than paying for upgrades.

@@RandumbTech i owned all adobe products in the first 100 buyers a long time ago and was a devout supporter until they went subscription and then I dropped them and went to either open source or license purchased products. As far as equal cost that would be only if you need pay or need every paid version up grade… you don’t so no it is not equal in. It’s, not even close. How do you think and why do you think software companies love subscriptions? $$$$$

I think that you are trying too hard to select the object of your dislike. If I select a larger area it seems to work fine.

Perhaps, but honestly I don't think it would have done a better job if I had made the selection bigger. I'm sure it will get better over time.
