Great video. Did you turn on auto lens correction and auto vignetting in the Nikon Z body when using ETA21 pro? If turn ON, will it confuse the Nikon Z body on what correction to apply when shooting JPEG?

Thank you for the informative video and guide on Auto iso, looking into this ZF model going into Full frame eventually, just confirming once you turn the Auto sensitivity to on in the menu, how does the ISO dial on top play a role if any? or does it is ned to be set to "C"? it seems a bit convoluted to me, the Fuji system I use currently simply has an Auto setting on the dial> its super easy to switch back and forth.

Hello! I currently have a Lumix G7. ive had this camera for manyyyyyyy years now. Im looking to upgrade to a new camera. Mainly for Music videos, cinematography, short films. But i also want that super crisp photography side as well. I was looking at the sony A 7RV but that has a pretty penny on it. then i discovered the A6700. Now im torn.
@RandumbTech
@RandumbTech 6 күн бұрын
Since you are shooting mostly video, the A6700 is going to be the best camera for your needs. Uncropped 4k/60p is HUGE in real world shooting. The A7RV pixel bins in 4K/30 and the quality suffers. The ONLY thing I did not like about the A6700 is that they did not include Flexible Exposure Mode when shooting video. I use that feature with all of my other cameras and it works really really well for hybrid shooters. Good luck!

I don't know, nothing is perfect, I have GRiii and x100vi and even Fuji x70, also know A7C and really don't need them all, but nothing is really fully satisfying. Ricoh is small with great picture quality, but missing good AF, viewfinder, the screen is fixed, x100vi has flaws, but that viewfinder is better than a7c and even a7cii also because evf, and the x70 has a tilting screen in a body competing by size with the Ricoh, with the image good enough. So of all those I only can say for sure that a7cii and a7cr are better than a7c, and one has to decide on her/his own preferences.

Well said! Everyone has their personal preferences - the X100VI just didn't do it for me. I will say that the EVF on the A7Cii is MUCH improved over the older A7C. I am using that camera as my EDC at the moment and it's working fantastic for my needs.

Of the cameras you listed, I'd say the XT5 would be the best for shooting street photography. It will require a bit more practice and you will rely heavily on manual focus, but the results will be good. One of the reasons I like the XT5 for street is the screen flips up rather than out - so you can be more discreet. Personally, I'd save up a little bit more and snag a used Leica Q2. It is BY FAR the best street photography camera I have ever used (and I've used a lot!!) Good luck with your decision!

It's on sale for $318, which is expensive, but it solves a pain point for us creators because it's essentially 3 mics in one that is small, light, and records fantastic audio directly into camera. The only feature I wish it had was a 3.5mm input for a lav mic. But I have a Tentacle Sync Track E so I can just use that when needed.

Something I learned recently is that the 4k at 24, 30, and 60fps on the a7rv has better rolling shutter performance than the a7iv since the pixels are binned. The a7iv’s rolling shutter performance in aps-c mode is about the same as the a7rv’s in full frame. The aps-c mode of the a7rv has slightly better rolling shutter(because it’s 26mp vs 33mp) performance over the a7iv shooting full frame video. Kind of confusing but quite interesting lol. Not that it matters either way to be completely honest.

In the past, I obsessed over video quality. Now I'm in the "good enough" camp. At the end of the day, it's more about the composition and lighting the tech specs. That microphone (when the video started, without the noise cancellation) adds a base hump -- sounds like a radio DJ's voice with enhanced bass, like when you are listening in your car with the bass turned up, and his voice has umph in the bottom end. With the noise cancellation, the base hump is absent, but the quality of your voice is lost. The omni directional setting sounds natural. The stereo setting is very good, but has an ever-so-slight hint of a bass hump. I wonder why the initial setting (at the start of the video) and the stereo setting differ in the amount of exaggerated bass? The directional aspect is very good. I agree with your assessment of the low cut setting. I do not know under what circumstances someone would choose that setting? I am blessed (and cursed) with critical listening skills. I can hear when music has any issues with the mixing and mastering (could also be the microphone or tapes or analog to digital conversion done in the studio, etc). I can't always be sure where unnatural sound of someone's voice or an instrument was from, but it takes me 2 seconds to hear it. Sadly, nearly every song has such issues. When a song has everything done right (a rarity, and it is never actually "everything" right -- but pretty close), it is heaven. I know little about microphones. So I do not know what is on the market, how they sound, pricing, etc. So I can't speak to why no one is talking about that microphone. Perhaps if there are hundreds of $300 microphones to choose from, it is hard to garner attention? Is there a blizzard of $300 microphones to choose from? There are hundreds of speakers to choose from, with a $300 budget. Most people will never hear of 90% of them. Is it the same for $300 microphones?
@RandumbTech
@RandumbTech 16 күн бұрын
There is a lot of competition at the $300 price point, but I don't know if there is anything else that offers similar features / convenience like it. I've looked at the frequency analyzer during playback and and it's consistent with other microphones which is great! There is a bit of handling noise, but other than that, I think it's a solid buy.

The noise canceling is indeed quite good! I was surprised when I listened back to the footage. I think sony has a limiter on everything, it does look like a really nice mic, and the reason why I would pass would be the simple fact that it's another device that sort of competes with other wireless systems that may not be as good, but maybe good enough, and it's wearable. Next trip, I'm only taking one mic with me, rode wireless pro
@RandumbTech
@RandumbTech 17 күн бұрын
I need to do some more detailed tests on the limiter capabilities. My experience with all of the ECM mics is that that you can recover just about any audio, even if it appears to be clipped. And if it's recorded too low, you can raise the volume without introducing additional noise. It's really slick. I have the Rode Wireless Pro as well, but am finding it's too fiddly when I want to fire up the camera and just start recording. If the ECM-S1 had a 3.5 mic input, it would be the ULTIMATE travel mic. Will be interesting to see how you get along with the Rode during your travels - have a great trip!!

I found a KZbin video that spoke about this adapter and it sounded as if all you had to do was attach the adapter to the lens, mount them on a Nikon ZF or any other Z series camera and you were in business. The results were anything but what was shown in the video. I tried using the adapter and 40mm Sony G lens on a ZF, Z6Ii and Zfc and the results were the same, when with i tuned the camera on i could see through the viewfinder, the camera was set to auto focus but the screen and viewfinder said that it was in manual focus and the lens F stop would not register, no matter how i mounted the lens and adapter to the camera body the results were the same. The adapter would lock in place on the camera body but the lens just twisted on the adapter and did not lock in place. I could twist the lens off of the adapter and the adapter would say on the camera body until i pressed the release button and twisted the adapter off,some one said that the firmware on the adapter might have to be updated, I felt that it the adapter was designed for a Sony lens to Nikon bodies it should have worked out of the box with at least one of the camera bodies that I tried using it on, in the end I purchased a Sony A7II that was heavily discontinued and now i use as a every day full frame camera setup, I also added the 20-70 f4 and the 24mm G lens that along with the 4omm is part of the three prime lenses that are very compact.

I shoot on the BMPCC 6K pro & the internal ND’s are one of the big reasons I can’t leave em. if Sony or Panasonic incorporate it I feel a lot filmmakers/videographers/content creators would drop what they have to get on that system..

they done it with the zv1... so if they *really* want they can do it.

I pray it comes out with a fair price.

As long as there is no global shutter, it will still be affordable. I think $4k is ultimately where it's going to land. And for that price and what it will be able to do, I believe that would be a fair price.

I have adapted Zeiss Batis and Loxia on the ZF and omg the stills it delivers are amazing 🤩

Nice!! I'm a big fan of the Zeiss lenses for stills, but since I shoot a lot of video, the focus motors are a bit too loud my taste. Glad they are working for you though!

I think that you are trying too hard to select the object of your dislike. If I select a larger area it seems to work fine.

Perhaps, but honestly I don't think it would have done a better job if I had made the selection bigger. I'm sure it will get better over time.

Lr Mobile works pretty good.

Thx for sharing your experience! Does it work differently than LrC? I would assume it's the same Generative AI engine. I've been goofing around with importing thru LrC and then using LR desktop/mobile for the images I want to edit. I hate having all of my images in the cloud, but nice to have the relevant ones.

@@RandumbTech to be honest I’ve only editing on mobile laptop but just Lr not LrC. On mobile it’s like 95% good. If you’re taking out stuff in the background (that no one will really notice) I usually run with the small % inaccuracy.

Glad I could help! Are you getting better results than me? I think there is tremendous potential, but it needs a lot more work.
