Lightsaber Form VI : Niman

I have also heard of Niman being referred to as The Way of the Stranger, due to its ever-changing and semi-unpredictable nature. What I have learned about it is that it is only taken to the greatest heights of skill when it has truly been mastered. Xar Kun was one such person and he was believed to be the greatest duelist the order had ever produced at that time. The same can be said for Revan. To master form VI is almost the same as mastering all saber form, save for Juyo. However, when a practitioner of the form views it as the diplomats from rather than a perfect form, it is clear that they will not live up to the legacy that I have mentioned. Often times they will be sub-par with other dualists. If you wish to master form VI then you must have the dedication to master it, or your form will fail.

@@melissaors9602 Yes, form 6 is supposed to be unpredictable, quick, and random. You take moves from all forms (specifically form 3 and form 4) and turn it into a fighting style. This includes random moves as long as they are logixal.

Bye extension you know every other lightsaber form, don´t you? I want to find out what form to use, yet I seem to not be able to determine a single form to use, so I think I will create my own fighting style for lightsaber combat. Luckily form 6 is like a gateway to all the form before it, so this seems like a good start. Ironically from what I understand to be truely formideable in Form 6 usage one has to know all the other forms, so I am asking myself if there is a way to bypass this/ reduce the other forms and cut out all the unnecassary things like form 4 defenses, when I can just use form 3 to defend myself. At the same time, I want to incorporate form 7 into the mix, yet I don´t know how exactly.

According to the internet, this is Rey’s lightsaber form of combat as it uses all several forms of lightsaber combat allowing her to use all skills to her advantage as she also uses a staff. Darth Maul also used this form hence why Rey uses it as she planned whilst constructing her new lightsaber to be a double blade as she struggles to use a single blade as she is so used to using a double bladed weapon.

@@theapexfighter8741 Because Form 6 is the hardest to study in every aspect- time, natural talent, physical condition and putting a effort, so the most people neglected it or just don't have the time and they become "the jerk of all trades and masters of non". BUT in some rare cases, IF the practitioner survives, enough longer😁, to study this form in its all aspects and is enough talented, and has fast and creative mind(to use the versatility of this style in full extent)...he/she would basically become almost unstoppable. But these are very rare cases, from 10 people only 2 or 3 in the best scenario. Just for this form you need a lot...and i mean A LOT of natural talend, time( non stop training) and hard determination. It's basically to master all forms, to know how to combine them in the right way depending of the situation, to be very tactical and even tricky. The last aspect tacfical and tricky are very important. Because even to be all these above and to become a real Niman master with no disadvantages, you still has and no real advantages, so you must be a very smart tactician and strong force user to be able, to use all that combat versatility in this style or to made your own personal variation. Just this style/form is the ENIGMA among all ligthsaber forms. Just is not for everyone and not everyone is born/made for this form. But I will repeat myself, only 2 or 3 of 10 become a real Niman masters, but God these people that survive, become almost untouchable( for example Exar Kun, Revan, Starkiller, Darth Kryat, not many examples, but legendary).

Great video. Sometimes, when we see the movies, we get the idea that the moviments are not focussed in attacking parts of the body, but just hitting the other lightsaber. The defence has the objetive of protecting the defenders body, and not just striking the other lightsaber.

@@Th3og0ny He's also an expert of Niman as was mentioned by Darth Plagueis in the Plagueis novel during a training session where Maul employed Niman against some training droids, Maul's conduct was also a mixture of Niman and Juyo with him managing his opponents through a balanced mixture of tactics and techniques but able to release a withering series of Juyo strikes when going on the offensive. He displayed this well in the Duel of Fates where in the novelisation of EP 1 by Terry Brooks, Maul was pretty much stage managing the whole fight. Niman as described by Jensaarai1 is a blank slate for a practitioner to configure to any combat scenario by harmonising and using whatever technique was necessary to get the job done rather than power through with one technique, Maul is even described in the TPM novelisation as having a Jedi's focus, mindset is just as important as skill when using Niman as one needs to have a clear head to surgically dissect an enemies technique as Maul did with a balanced mixture of techniques on a Juyo base.

The reason why Niman got such a bad rep during the years up until the Clone Wars is because no one really took the time to master it. It's greatest strength was It's unpredictable and adaptive nature. Exar Kun mastered it to It's fullest extent, and he was undefeatable.

In my opinion it’s very sad that, in ALL canon content of Star Wars, we have never seen any single bladed Niman technique like all the others. Every niman user is either depicted using double bladed lightsaber (Darth Maul) or two lightsabers (jar’kai users?). It is said it most resembles soresu but how can we know this really?

@@superior6385 Well a fighting system is only as good as the judgment and speed of decision making by the practitioner. When it comes to Jedi creativity is a must as is strength of will to protect from force attacks. Look at OWK getting destroyed by CD just on force powers. He would have lost his duel with AS if Anakin had used force powers more creatively than a straight up saber battle just due to raw strength in the force. That battle was plot armour as OT needed to happen. Same with Kit Fisto being destroyed by DS before clone wars made him a legendary fighter.

my niman moderation would be combining the elegant blade work of makashi, the powerful strikes of djem so, and a little bit of acrobatics from ataru. Why?: Makashi, focused and controlled strikes. Djem So, powerful and strong strikes. What i COMBINED those two, it would be pretty powerfull. And adding ataru would make acrobatic attacks more affective.

Niman gets such a bad rep due to most Jedi prior to the Clone Wars using it as a way to maintain the bare minimum standard of lightsaber proficiency while focusing the rest of their energy on diplomacy which would bite them in the ass during the Arena battle on Geonosis. People are very quick to forget that one of the greatest users of Niman was Exar Kun who became one of the greatest lightsaber duelists of the age and even defeated his master, the famed Blademaster Vodo-Siosk Baas.

This form is very strong yet can also be weak. Its mainly used for adapting and depends on the form used by its opponent but when it comes to fighting multiple enemies it can struggle if both enemies use different forms
