When i started reading the bible in my 20s, I am already amazed at the sovereignty of God. How powerful God is. And this verse, " Who are you O man to talk back to God?." I never question the bible, I will always praise God, my creator!

I've only ever once sit in a church and listened to a sermon on the wrath of God. It was almost 50 yrs ago at Moody Church when Wiersby preached on Rev 20:11-5, "the most solomn passage in all of scripture." And so it is. But I have come to hold that the most terrifying passage is Mt 7: 21-23. "Hell Under Fire" was a good examination to the subject. "Wrath" by Jonathan Edwards another. Then Shedd's "Dogmatic Theology" on the subject. Of late I've looked at the addition to the "Apostolic Creed" ..." descended into hell." Bad translation of "grave." Gospel Coalition defends its addition. However I see little scriptural support for it. Peter's referring to Noah, IMHO, is better understood that Christ preached to to that unbelieving generation via "Noah, a preacher of righteousness." The addition wasn't until 600AD. When Christ told the thief that in that very day he would be with Christ in Paradise. Paul defined Paradise as the 3rd heaven, not a compartment of Hades/Sheol.

Paul Washer and Jonathon Edwards do a great job presenting it. Why would anyone buy a product that they didn't need. Sinners in the hands of an angry God is the seminal work on the subject of wrath. YT has many recordings of this sermon. 50 min length.

"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Jesus believed in the wrath of God. But you only have to fear it if you have it coming. The saved fear God because of his wrath, but they don't fear because they know Jesus has taken the wrath already. It's sort of a quantum state.
