Great theme... "...the impulse to prayer is a natural one, springing from man's love to God. Prayer need not be in words, but rather in thought and attitude." "It behooveth the weak to supplicate the strong..." ~ Baha'i Faith

Faith is not the same as faithfulness . Faith is absolute confidence in the Lord of whose faithfulness is never doubted. Don't find fault with protestants

In the old covenant it was by works, in the new covenant salvation it is by faith, God's initiative only and not what we have done. That is why it is " good news"

No one was ever saved by works, OT or NT. Under the Old Covenant, the sacrifices were to continually point God's people to look for the Messiah, Who would be the ultimate sacrifice and save them from their sins. "1 For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. 2 Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? 3 But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. 4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. (Hebrews 10:1-4, though I encourage reading the book in it's entirety). Salvation has always been by faith in God's Messiah (from Gen 3:15 to the progressively more detailed revelations of Who that Messiah would be like Isaiah 53 or Psm. 22). See also Romans 4, which refrences Genesis 15:3 and shows how Abraham was saved by faith and not works. While it's always been faith in God's Way (the Lord Jesus Christ), in the OT saints were saved on credit; under the NT, we're saved on debit. Christ has paid for the sins of all those who trust Him as Lord (2 Cor. 5:20-21, Rom. 5:1-8).

I don't mean to be argumentative, but it is very important we teach God's word clearly and don't pervert the gospel. I hope this helps clarify.

But thats what we have always been saying, mans responsibility, GOd soverinity hand in hand.

In matters of Christian living, yes. In matters of soteriology, no. Biblical Christianity is rooted in monergism, not synergism. Man's responsibility in salvation is to respond in repentance and faith.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 KJV Jesus lives Jesus Christ is Lord For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23 KJV Jesus loves you repent You're a sinner in need of a Savior That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10 KJV
