“And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out” Luke19:37-40

I find it perplexing that for years, Jacob's sons lied to him about the death of their brother and watched him mourn, and not once did they reveal the truth until the end. Jacob the conman got conned by his own sons, horrifically.

Joseph was Rachel's son and Jacob loved Rachel the most. She was his original choice and he waited 7 years to marry her, but he was deceived by her Father into marrying the older sister Leah, and had to wait another 7 years to be allowed to marry Rachel. I suspect that is why Joseph was his favourite.

But didn't God sovereignly create us with free moral agency to have genuine fellowship with Him? I think Calvinists conflate God's sovereignty with absolute determinism?? God's foreknowledge of all events does not make Him the causal agent of all events (see Jeremiah 19:5 for one of many examples). Where in scripture is anyone irresistibly coerced to be saved?

@@HearGodsWord The only place to turn to is God's divinely inspired Word...in context. God sent His Son to redeem any, all, everyone that will & CAN call upon Him for salvation per: John 1:12, John 6:40, Romans 5:18 & 10:11-13, Titus 2:12, Hebrews 2:9. You were born when you were born, where you were born to seek God (Acts 17:26-31). No one is prevented or forbidden from having their sins forgiven in scripture... but most of the planet is in Calvinism.

Remember, faith is not a reliable tool for discerning what is true from what is not true. If a person honestly, objectively cares about truth then they have no choice but to discard faith.

Your comment makes no sense
@rocketsfan611611 ай бұрын
@@kimberleywalski6290 Please allow me to explain. A person can believe anything based on faith (And just to clarify I'm generally talking about faith in the religious context aka Hebrews 11:1, NOT just a synonym for confidence or trust). A person could believe tall people are superior to short people based on faith, or that they have a million dollars in their bank account based on faith...doesn't make it TRUE. That's because faith has no mechanism by which we can reliably get to truth. You cannot use faith as a tool and RELIABLY discern what is true from what is not. Thus, logically, if a person truly cares objectively about what is true then they MUST discard faith right from the outset.

@@kimberleywalski6290 This is entirely independent of a person's specific theology. It applies to faith in the religious sense, regardless of which belief system. Faith logically and factually speaking isn't a reliable tool to discern what is true from what is not. Lastly, if you'd like to discuss the actual theology, I'm happy to embarrass you publicly there as well. 😃
