I have always had problems with this parable. Jesus never prohibited what the son did, but rather told us the journey and focused on the end of repentance. Does that mean I can ask God for what I really want and not wait until the very end, but is that a natural law that I will do wrong with what I always wanted? I know they say not focus on the materialistic, but still i think its possible to do good, right?

REFORMED TRINITOLOGY: O.k, we all agree that the Father was more than gracious for "His" forgiveness and we understand the prodigal for admitting his wretchedness......🤔 But personally, I believe we're not giving you enough credit to the older son for calling out the prodigal's nature! In urban vernacular this is called "game recognizing, game"! The older son probably would have done the same thing the prodigal did (if not worse) had the temptation presented itself! 😜✝️
