Hakuraita, yes, but more often than not these rich people set up charities just to profit out of them. They get tax breaks and pocket a good share of the donations in the form of "expenses". These foundations are mostly used to cover unscrupulous financial practices. Think about it, if it's charity they are interested about why not give the money directly to hospitals, the red cross and others organisations that really do the humanitarian work? why don't THEY, foot the bill for the expenses? Eric raised the money from OTHER people, how much did he give from his own pocket? He doesn't boast of that on twitter!

I hate to say this but based on the article, it does seem like Eric started the charity with some good intentions at least. Sure he might get some rich people benefit from the gig but the original costs was about 50k dollars. Donnie came into the picture and boom, costs shot up by 300%. Not only that, the Charity's original board was slowly replaced by Trump's own people and costs started rising further.
