I'm an absolute sucker for stuff like this. I don't even need a campaign map, I'd be happy with a big ol pile of tiles seeing what terrain I can make.

I hooked up with the Dungeon Blocks during the initial launch and have picked up every set since then. My favorites are Toxic Sewer and Infinate Spaceship.

You keep doing FDM, I keep doing the likes. I'm glad there's still channels that keep FDM relevant and alive rather than jump into the resin pool.
@TheHelium99911 күн бұрын
jumping into a pool of resin does sound really off-putting :D

Always a pleasure seeing your videos. Have ended up getting an A1 mini and 0.2 nozzle after watching a number of your videos, can't wait to get it set up and working now! Thanks for the effort you put in to making all of these. It is very much appreciated mate.

I love this concept for game maps - having terrain at the individual tile level gives so much flexibility.
@CodyPoll8 күн бұрын
And you can print out larger pieces too. So many options with this!

The grid is really neat idea, solves the problem with other blocks which explode into tiny pieces when you try moving them.

interesting....this has to be the absolute first dnd board making project ive seen that didnt look like a total nightmare to store, organize, and assemble. Im tempted.

This idea is really cool. I could totally see this kind of terrain not only for D&D campaigns but for smaller scale systems like Kill Team, OPR's Firefight or Quest. It should be easier to store those blocks and build many different settings compared to "traditional" terrain, so if space is a concern, this might be something to look out for. One could also go and only use this modular system for a terrain piece on a game mat, like modular ruins. Thanks for this video, keep up your amazing work!

I'd love to recreate some Under dark terrain. Not even for a map just for a shelf display/character display

Ooh Yeah, they have a cool Cavern set that has some crystals and mushrooms that could easily be painted up in an underdark theme 👀

I want to see a 6x4 foot wargaming board of dungeon blocks. No one’s done it but it would be epic.
@Painted4Combat12 күн бұрын
Believe me I would love too, but a table or grid that big would take up my whole living room 🤣 *maybe one day though
@Russellmeine12 күн бұрын
How much in filament would you imagine a 6x4’ board of dungeon blocks would cost?
@HorizonVertigo11 күн бұрын
@@Russellmeine Each block is 1" x 1" and takes about 30 minutes to print on a P1S. I've been printing 25 blocks at a time and it it's around 300g +-50g a plate. So my guess would be somewhere around 45 kilos of filament once you have all the grids and risers printed as well. $20/kg CAD delivered so, $900ish?

I was running a SW5e campaign with friends via Roll20, but got into painting minis and now have a 3d printer of my own (Bambu A1). I'd love to see what the Sci Fi set can do and if you have any tips for someone who hasn't printed or painted a lot of terrain pieces before.
@brish708611 күн бұрын
I've been looking at Dungeon Blocks for a while, and thanks to you I just did the jump and bought it! Did you use your tiles at 91.4% with the original sized grid? I haven't printed any grids yet and wanted to make sure that if I do print at 91.4%, it'll fit correctly into the grids!
@Painted4Combat10 күн бұрын
I would say print a sample at normal scale and a set at 91.4 if you want to try it. But if you scale any of it down, you have to scale everything down, including the grid! And it might be worth checking the hallway peices that have walls on both sides, as those are the only ones im not sure will work at 91.4% with a 25mm base :))

Would you mind sharing the Jig Files for painting?

I would love too, but this not my system, and since it is not open-source I can't be distributing files that are strictly designed to work with it.

You need to be careful... Dungeon Blox do not like anyone re-creating their grid (even if it is for painting). I made a much better grid and they found out about it... despite me saying to them that they can use my idea and I would give them the files, they threatened me with patents and breach of copyright notices. I searched for their so-called patent and it doesn't exist, despite them saying it does and gave me the patent offices name - I checked with them and there is no patent. I think it was just them using scare tactics. I have not bought any more series of Dungeon Blox since and created my own sci-fi blocks and grid system over a year before they even had the idea.
@Painted4Combat12 күн бұрын
Good to know! Were you distributing the files or had you simply created them for personal use?

i love the concept of this but dear GOD there's no way i can put that much time into pieces for a map my party is just as likely to diplomacy through. on top of that, it also needs to be stored, on top of mini storage? definitely a step up from buying one-off kits, but i'll stick to digital maps.
