Like the boys, not Like some boys. Actually, the better translation would "Like boys".

Rei's interpretation not yours or mine. The name "Comme des Garçons" translates from French to "like some boys." quoted by Rei Kawakubo herself, the founder of the brand, has often highlighted the idea of challenging traditional gender norms through her designs, which is reflected in the name.

Yeah it is. Rei grew up in a very patriarchal Japanese society, women were supposed to look after the home. Going to University was a rarity. And no females started companies. She was always a rebel.

@@paulroberts9204 No, it translates "Like THE boys". "Like some boys" would be "comme QUELQUE garcons". There is a difference. @solanareznor8309 is correct.
