What did I like and what did I wish I would have changed after my first year of owning my Planta Greenhouse. In this video I will tell you what I liked about my initial build of the greenhouse from the beginning and some things I plan to do moving into 2024.

saw where someone used drilled out golf balls over those ridge bolts, but I bought acorn nuts for mine and no snags. Just a thought. Love your videos.

I genuinely think you just gave me a brilliant solution. Many many thanks for this and the kind words about my videos. Have a great week and thanks again.

Try putting a pool noodle cut and glued to the ridge? I don't get why you need so many individual shade cloths. If you have 2 ladders and 2 people unroll the length you want on one side, each person gets on their ladder with the cloth to hang on the other side still rolled up and put it over the ridge. Actually the bolts would help hold the cloth in place. Ours slips sideways and we have to hold it with wiggle wire on the ends.

Thanks for the feedback. The shade cloth that Planta sells with the greenhouse is not one large one - it is individual ones. That is why there are numerous shade clothes. Once these wear out I will find a way to utilize a larger one. Also, they roof is 1/4 inch sheeting and not something you can just climb up on to glue down a pool tube. Thanks again and have a great week.

I watched your construction video to put up the same 10x20 greenhouse last July here in Ohio. It is so funny to watch this walkthrough because I did almost everything that you just showed us, including purchasing the same green shelving, and putting the 1x8 wood shelf on the sides of the greenhouse. I also have 4 pavers in front of each door and a pipe in the ground door stopper with a chain to hold it back with same size beds all around. I have the same heater and thermostat and agree with you that the heater is not all that, in fact it’s being replaced under warranty because it stopped working entirely. I have pipes running on the top sides as well to hang items from, and me and my wife cannot get over how many things we have done almost identical to you.And we really love the greenhouse here as well, and we just shut it down in the middle of December and got it all cleaned out and hope to start up seeds in March our first complete 9 to 10 month season, now that we know how well everything grew in our first short season. Thanks for showing us the ropes when we bought it, it was relatively easy to build looking at what you had done, everyone loves it.

This feedback makes me very happy. Interesting how close our approach has been. The idea with the pipe is brilliant at the door - I may just steal your idea. Please let me know if anything I missed out that you think would help me. I’m always looking for suggestions. Thanks again and have a great New Year.

Love your video, your peak problem is a bummer for sure. a small PVC pipe cut in half and fastened to the ridge lengthwise covering the bolts might allow you to spread a full shade cloth easier. Maybe even use wind straps or even a pool noodle instead of PVC just brainstorming.

wind straps as a fastener and noodle as a substitute for PVC pipe.

That is a brilliant idea. The pool noodle would be cheap and work perfectly. Thanks for this idea. I may just have to try it this summer. Have a great week, and thanks again.

Very informative. Thank you. Since you have electricity, you could also use an electric water heater for coffee and tea. That way, no need to worry about any gas.

i watched a video were you had just built it. i am glad you updated! I just bought one and got my foundation in. The hoops are built. now the tedious part begins of putting it together. I also will not have beds in the ground. I have 90 acres here in Massachusetts and do not need more to tend. I wanted mine soly for overwintering plants and seed starting. I also did not get the roof vent's because i will be using it for growth in extreme temp's. The north east is not a place for kindness in the winter. The more heat i can keep in, the better. After a ton of research i just didn't love them and found a few that said they leak water during heavy rains and never fully seal correctly. Baring any huge Nor' Easter's, I am hoping to have mine complete by March. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Have a great New Year. Happy gardening and enjoy your green house time. I literally cannot wait. I look at the foundation constantly and dream of having it complete......sooooooooo much work to put a planta together. Dislike #1.

Thanks for reaching out. I always like to hear how others are enjoying or plan to enjoy their greenhouse. I am also happy to hear when someone sees the issues with such things as the windows. Not a manufacturer issue, just not a good fit for some of us. Get in a groove and just get the greenhouse done - that is what I did and it paid off. We will keep our fingers crossed - keep us updated. Have a great new year.

Thanks for the thoughts behind your set up. One thing I would change would be to extend your step one more paver. Stepping up to open the door then having to step back down seems like a potential fall hazard.

Thanks for pointing that out. I will have to see how it works out with how I have it and could easily use your suggestion if needed. Thanks for the suggestion and have a great New Year.

Thank you for the informative videos! I am currently trying to decide between the Sungrow and Sigma from Planta. What was/were your deciding factor(s) on choosing the Sungrow?
@StewartFarmApiary
@StewartFarmApiary 5 ай бұрын
Thank you for the question - There was a picture I saw of 16 men sitting on top of the Sungrow and I thought that was pretty impressive. I also like the peak ceiling because it is gives just a little more space for hanging plants if you put a bar in like I mention in my video. Hope this helps. Have a great week.

Foundation is in place, finally! I used 6' landscape fabric (2 strips) cover the whole thing. I cut 6x6s to as follows: 9-10.5" x 26'-5.5" as per a phone call I made to the manufacturer. Will see how it goes. I also placed some bricks pavers I had laying around at the bottom of the 2x6s instead of the 2x6 lumber like yours. Next, (to anchor the whole thing down i will be drilling 1/2' holes 4"O.C. to drive down 1/2" rebar dowels ( 4' )down at least. can't wait to start framing that thing up@@StewartFarmApiary
