Do you need the alligator clips? Could you just complete the circuit by burying the cable and splicing it to the other wire? Sorry for sounding dumb. I wanting to install electric fencing to keep the livestock from pushing on the wire but I absolutely hate those rubber gate handles on the wire.

You can totally splice directly to the live wire. The reason I don't attach the wire full time is because I want full charge and the longer the wire the more issues I have found. Hunting hundreds of yards for what is shorting out the wire is a pain so I just make it to where the pasture I have the animals in at the time has the connection for a full charge. So far it works and cuts down on maintenance for me. Just a thought if you are running alot of wire. Hope this helps. Have a great week.

Do you have an automatic gate going across a driveway that you have electric fence on? We have an asphalt driveway that we need to have the electric fence go across but don't know how to set it up on the automatic fence so that when it closes the electric current goes back on.

put trench and alligator clip on the outside of the pasture so an animal cannot detach the alligator clip.

1 thing i can tell you for sure is i wouldnt bury any of the underground wire without conduit. I cant tell you how many of those we've dug up and fixed because after 15 years or so the plasirc coating cracked.
