the "wait, who's taking care of my farm" line is really one of the most hard hitting bars for me. the imaginary "Russel" got so caught up in his success that the farm that he grew up taking care of has become an afterthought. To me its a metaphor for the sacrifices we all make to reach our goals. Doesn't each and every one of us have a hobby, friend, loved one etc, that we've had to leave behind at some point in our lives? this song is fire, absolutely incredibly storytelling.

The whole Russel Westbrook story was an analogy of his music career. Basically saying that he could have continued on the normal path, but discovered he could rap and decided to follow that path. Same as how in the story Russel could have lived his life as a farmer, but found basketball and his new passion.

It is extremely refreshing to hear an actual first time reaction to any song. I think that a lot of reactions aren't actually first time listens. That honesty is awesome. This is the mark of a great song. When you can listen multiple times and there's something different to hear each time, different dots to connect. Knowing that he was gonna look up the lyrics immediately, listen through again and realize he missed things in the first listen. Knowing in retrospect the source of the beat and parts of the concept of the song. But he posts the first original reaction anyways. That's real shit.

60 yo white dude musician here , I know I'm late to the party but this is really strange because I hadn't subscribed to you and then I've been following some LD reacts, but from the first 10 seconds I realized I've seen you react to stuff till before, which is strange cuz typically I was on here before looking for Elvis Presley reactions and maybe some Led Zeppelin and stuff like that Lynyrd Skynyrd now and then just cuz I grew up on that shit as a kid and it's hilarious to see people from another Viewpoint encounter this and relate it. And believe me I don't know a lot about modern hip hop but I was there when rap started and I've been a fan even as a white boy since the beginning, not crazy into it but certain things I would obsess on over time. The last ones I really into or of course Snoop and all that but things like Blackalicious and most deaf and I don't know just around the edges of things it seems. But there's something about this reaction man, you just break it down and I love the fact that you don't feel the need to stop and break down every single bar. I think it's impossible almost this guy has so many layers to his triple entendras and rhyme schemes and cadences and Mix-Ups with his flow and all that stuff but he's smart and funny and it's just an interesting situation. But somehow you are right on top of it man. And I love the fact that you actually stop it comment and then rewind a little bit to let us get back in the flow. I've seen some of these Reactions where they're just so intent on breaking down every bar and I love that, but then they just continue right where they left off and you lose the flow. The bars are important but the flow is really important to me as a musician. Hats off sir.

In the end he says "who's taking care of my farm. I really loved that farm.". Normally, I would leave that line for face value, however, Dicky comes out as surprisingly and oddly deep and thoughtful. I think the farm is still part of the original analogy with his life, referring back to RW farm is meant as his life before the career. We learned in his song "Molly" that he had to choose between his rap career or his long term love. He obviously went with his career as did RW. So, without this coming out the wrong way, his girl, and what likely would have been a normal life I believe, would be his farm. "Who's taking care of my girl. I really loved that girl.". Or I'm way too high and need to put down the tablet.
