We even went to Houston to try to get him help and he was not a candidate for a surgery that might’ve only maybe helped him. When we returned to Florida our doctor, who was very kind and clear about why he had to say this, told us that we could not terminate without going way out of state. The closest state we could go to by the time we had got back from Texas and had the appointment with was South Carolina. After we had just taken 2 weeks without notice. That was not at all possible, we just moved into our new apartment, just spent hundreds of dollars at this hospital for what feels like no reason. We are still sitting at home waiting for our son Xander to die in her womb or wait to see if he will make it to full term to watch him suffocate and suffer due to his condition. This is an awful evil thing that I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. While our doctors were very kind that cannot be said for every doctor. As a young woman living in the U.S. right now, it’s been really upsetting for me to realize I cannot travel safely in my own country. I have an IUD and use protection, but last month I still suffered from an ectopic pregnancy I had no idea about until it began to rupture my Fallopian tube. I was only four weeks along, and had no way of knowing because the IUD prevented menstruation. I had multiple doctors and nurses tell me that they’re glad we’re in Massachusetts, and that I’m lucky we aren’t in a state like Ohio or Texas, because they wouldn’t have been able to operate despite the fact that I was in excruciating pain. They would have been forced to wait until my internal bleeding got worse as I likely would have died before miscarriage. I had to walk away from this video last night because I was devastated, in tears that other women have been forced to let their child die inside them and in some cases have essentially been put to death by the state government. I genuinely no longer feel like I can travel to or even through large portions of the country. It makes me sick that we consider ourselves leaders of the free world and still treat women like livestock.

That you gotta do the pledge of allegience every day in school is something I'm still having a hard time to grasp as a concept, it's so creepy to me. The US likes to boast about having the right to free speech as if this is something unique to them, but they're not even the country with the most extensive free speech rights. Several countries have more rights to their free speech than the US, but it's only the US that loves to brag about it constantly. Feels like a brainwashed thing to make its citizens be grateful for the scraps they get, and forget how scammed they're being on staggeringly multiple fronts. The way that healthcare, voting, taxes (the way they're distributed and who pays how much... or how little) paid time off and mat/pat leave, pregnancy, infastructure, cable, broadband, workers rights and wages, education and food (yes food!!)... it's all structured to drain people of their money, time, labour and power, like cattle.

I have a 4 month old that needed help breathing for a few minutes when she was born. Those few minutes were terrifyingly horrible till she cried out and once she got out of the nicu 2 days later, she has been flourishing. But I couldn't even watch those women give testimony. I really tried but it made my soul wither and shriek. As a Canadian new mom, I will never stop praying for all young women in the US. Pregnancy was incredibly tough, no one should ever be made to carry a child, and if they do carry and the unthinkable happens, the only thing worse would be making them continue to carry it

Should be laws about child exploitation on social media, and what children should/shouldn’t be allowed to post and do, and what parents, legal guardians and managers can do too.

Local news media reported on Lil Tay's death. You'd think they would've fact checked a local death instead of jumping on TMZ's reporting

As if local media hasn't been bought up and conglomerated across the US... Of course they wouldn't perform actual journalism for a tabloid headline.

People watched Dave season 3, right? This feels like a storyline stolen straight from the show. Rapper's fame skyrockets after fake death hoax.

TMZ was actually the only media outlet to NOT report on her "death". They only posted the fact that it was fake. They've got moles all over LA, in hospitals and police stations, so they would have been the first to know if it was true.

Usually TMZ has their finger on the pulse when it comes to celebrity deaths. I remember one journalist saying their company required deaths to be triple checked before posting UNLESS it was reported by TMZ because 99% of the time they're right, and their insiders are very in the know. I guess that's why so many companies are eating shit right now, they got too comfortable.

Oh boy, phil. I work in bags for an airline in Canada... Skip Lagging is a nightmare for several reasons. 1 it immediately creates a ton of problems for the airport. The passenger has to talk with an agent who communicates with the baggage handlers and baggage services team to help get this bag removed separately from regular operations. This means that immediately, there are potentially 3 people involved with assisting one guest. 2 baggage crew is now out of place. When a baggage crew has to lose a team member to move a bag outside of its intended destination, that means that oftentimes, that team has to run a man down for 10-20 minutes, which affects potentially 4-5 flights. So, 1 person doing this can impact up to like 400 people. And we have smaller planes in a small-medium sized airport that I work in. 3 they now have to get their reservation manually modified by another team member after the fact, so a 4th person is involved and taken away from helping guests with other stuff. If this is through the call center, often it's not a big issue cause that's over staffed in case of unexpected delays or cancellations, but if one of those is happening, then they are now making that situation worse. So, from the airlines' perspective, yea hate that it makes sense to do that, and the big wigs really despise it. From the ones on the ground, working to make the operation go as smoothly as possible. It's literally like taking a small campfire and dumping some gas on it in the middle of the woods and hoping we dont start a forest fire.

There’s something really comforting about your show Phil. Maybe because it’s been an almost daily part of my life for years, but after a particularly bad day, I’m really happy to be watching this video

I hope all the women inflicted with trauma move forward and file legal claims against the politicians that passed the laws, not the state in general but the actual people responsible.

Pro tip to avoid checking your carry-on: if the gate agent says you have to check your carry-on, tell them you have an electronic device with a lithium battery in it. They're not allowed to put lithium batteries in the baggage hold so they'll let you take your carry-on with you into the cabin

I never heard of skiplagging until now, but I'm all for it. There's no reason a flight to your destination should cost more than a flight to another city with your destination as a layover.

Thank you Phil for covering the Ecuador news story. We, the people, know the truth. Previous delinquent president wants the power back, had to take out the most supported competition. Worst thing is, nobody can do anything about it. May God help us.

It's crazy how freaked out airlines are about skiplagging. My fiancee was taking a flight that was from St Louis to DC for a layover and then ending in Massachusetts for a concert. It was American, and the flight to DC was fine, no delays. She gets to DC and in the couple hour layover they straight up cancel her second flight and immediately rebook her for a flight that wouldn't land in Massachusetts until after the concert was half over, so she decided to skip the flight and took a train to make it in time. Afterwards she gets to the airport to get on her flight home, and they say they already resold her seat and she would have to get a new ticket. They wouldn't accept her explanation and wouldn't compensate her for anything, it's like they just immediately assume you're trying to screw them over so they just go scorched earth.
@JoelCromwell Жыл бұрын
Her mistake was not talking to a customer service agent about it. Had she told an agent that now she was 'travelling in vain' (the term in the industry where they are travelling for a specific reason), then she could have gotten a trip credit for her unused flight to re-use at a later date.

I personally have 2 individuals who's babies died inside of them and forced to wait for labor. They then had to naturally deliver a soul they'd created and held inside of them with immeasurable anticipation, but inexplicably and in a whisper, was extinguished. There is no accurate description of the kind of pain and grief that those mothers went through. I also cannot begin to articulate my own sorrow, heartbreak and confusion for these mothers as to why the fuck in this day and age of cutting edge technology, while in one of the most progressive countries, is this FUCKING HAPPENING???
@BadOompaloompa79 Жыл бұрын
We are far from a progressive country. We're a backwards limited democracy with a strong fascist party itching to take over and who put a corrupt supreme court in power and tried to end our democracy because the Democrats ran clinton.
