@@mattymccolgan9453 you missed the whole point. you can still be creative and embrace the trend, look at J Cole for example. Wow. Let's see if we can ride a little harder and faster maybe that'll make it more true. Lmfao. Wayne could say dog shit and everyone would think it was the best rap in the world. Just being real. You people are hilarious. Yeah don't be real you got to put on makeup and change your face and wear multiple mask and do whatever you got to do to make the people happy instead of being a true artist and true to yourself. I get what he's saying. Hilarious.

no it's not, not at all. I see the point you think you're making but art is not at all parallel to being a secretary. or to any kind of office work, art is not even a profession you cant compare it to anything besides art or life itself, & now we get to the real deal because most of this music is not art.

Never thought music and creative arts would one day be compared to PowerPoint. Maybe that’s why hiphop is sh!t nowadays.
@davehiills3833
@davehiills3833 2 жыл бұрын
Jeff trinkles to be honest he’s on point with the comparison because art in general involves a lot of adaption in that sense creating and publishing music in the early time vs now is different now it’s more independent and digital if you can engineer or find someone to mix and engineer you just won’t publish it people don’t just meet up make music and boom your visible to everyone like in the 60’s they was mainly going outside in the club meeting people of influence they thought would help, 90’s there was a lot of people just handing CD’s now you can meet up but just performing isn’t still enough sometimes and nobody got CD’s it’s all digital often nowadays people rather do it their selfs and publish it it’s different
@davehiills3833

In that same sense music used to be mainly real instruments now you don’t need to learn instruments you can do it all on computer

@@darkskinwhite Yes unfortunately that’s a big part of understanding life. Evolution. This happens generation to generation. The generation prior to your taste in music looks at that same generation as “the beginning of the death of music”. Nothing is supposed to stay the same forever. So if you’re a rapper and your goal is to stay at the top of your profession you have to adjust to the era that you’re in. If you just make music for the sake of making music then do that. Enjoy yourself and the state of the art shouldn’t be a topic of your discussion. Every generation of music has “trash”. The music that is widely accepted moves on and the trash stays behind and so you’re comparing the open field of a landfill to a landfill that has had everything but the tiny pieces of treasure removed.

@@nicholasportillo897 it’s got nothing to do with racism, kid. Black people don’t recognize him as the best either. Because he isn’t, but that’s another topic. Only second to Eminem..Man hit the mainstream stage back in 96 and is now staying at the top and stay relevant for 26+yrs..This right here is unheard of to have this much longevity and is still one of the most popular rapper ever if not the most popular and still sold out like 337,248k copies inside the first week of releasing its album unlike Wayne who sold past around 73k first week and to be quite honest,Wayne new shit barely got views nor mentioned even in a school compound and public..And it's actually not 28yrs after he first hit the mainstream..He started out in 99 and got recognised in 2001which is 23yrs but still very impressive for a rapper. But didnt have quite like the record of Em nor match his popularity,consistency,records sold and didnt have half of Em popularity...

Wanting Hip Hop to stay pure and authentic and all about the art of writing is not hating. Its more akin to protecting. Take this verse by Joe Budden for instance speaking on Hip Hop. "...Back when the music had a message in it. We was rebels against it, the best was intended to lessen the gimmicks, but now? Y'all made a mess of it. And somebody gotta address this shit. Rakim would never wear a dress and shit. I ain't a pessimist to say I ain't impressed with it, your hearing's bad, you think it's alive, now that's the death in it. When it was all about bars, wanted to weddin' it, surround yourself with bullshit, you'll be liable to step in it. Came here with one objective, gettin' it further. Now I'm watching my first love die, witnessing murder. When Common stopped loving ol' girl (hip hop), what was he telling me? Cold world (Cole world), now she won't dig you without a melody (Cole sings in a lot of his songs). Love nerds, used to be into gangsters with felonies... We need a new president, where the fuck is Eric B? Or did my wordplay confuse her? Now I see her with Young Thug and Future Like what did you people do to her now? My generalization is this generation, the imminent state of this gentrification, desensitization! I call her, she's in Marvin's room, everything is awkward now. She moved more to south, deserted her New Yorker crowd. Met her with a cane (Big Daddy Kane), she changed, prefers to walk it out (southern commercial rap like the track Walk It Out took over). Stopped eating meat when she heard I worked in a slaughterhouse (Joe's group). Now she's a new dame glued to the fame, she used to hate accessorizing she's wearing Two Chains. Relationship too strained, I don't know who to blame, when I tell her "You've changed", she says, "Who would be the same?" She's right! Cause this ain't the way we knew each other... Or do I face the fact that maybe we outgrew each other? It took a while, but that's finally understood. She wouldn't change it if she could. I swear if this is love, I'm good!" Pure brilliance speaking on where and how Hip Hop started to what its devolved to today. The dumbing down of the culture. The ridiculous trends that come and go. Etc etc. This is why Joey has always been one of the best lyricists ever imo.

@@whoknows4379 it's not one thing, hip hop has a much bigger audience now. You may find that there are just as many fans, albums, artists for lyrical rap as they always was but like Jazz it grew and so now the late comers are the majority of the fans. Hip hop as a genre is relatively new so I understand the freakout but this is what happens to every artform that gains wide appeal. But hip hop will never die it's just that it won't pay people by quality of art but preferences of the paying audience, people will still make money but the latest fad will make more money in the moment. But remember also, royalties get paid out over time and good music will tend to perform better over time than the latest trend.
