@@WhackiesAltVault Dang...I forgot about that! If I remember, it was similar to the situation with Kendrick; Pusha didn't really even diss Wayne at first. He was rightly pissed that Birdman never paid for that Neptunes beat. But Wayne had to try to defend his "Daddy". 😆 Well then...maybe this time Wayne wised up and realized he didn't really want any problems with Kendrick.

Lil Wayne had turned into one of the weirdest people in the rap game. I watched the full video with Skip Bayless. It's just so bizarre how he said he still never listened to the bars and doesn't listen to music in general. Even to this day never heard the bars in wacced out murals that Kendrick said about him. He still would have never said anything about the Kendrick situation if skip would have never brought it up. It's all disingenuous to be honest. He really never gives a straight answer and beats around the bush with the answers he actually gave to skip. He's weird

I have a theory that they didn’t actually talk to one another. It sounds like they just texted each other. Why didn’t Wayne simply ask Kendrick what he meant? And he still didn’t congratulate Kendrick. “You better kill it; you better smash it” is not necessarily congratulating Kendrick for achieving this. Wayne did a lot of damage by failing to come out sooner to squash this. All he had to do was call Jay-Z or try and speak to him and/or Kendrick privately. Perhaps Jay should have reached out to him to let him know before the announcement. I just think this whole thing is unfortunate and places a lot of pressure on Kendrick. And a lot of jealousy and hate, in my view, from some in the industry, OG rappers, Drake, Wayne and Young Money fanatics, and fans of Wayne and Drake on these sports and entertainment shows. There seems to be quite a backlash against Kendrick.

I know he’s stated he doesn’t listen to rap or whatever is happening at the time. I would bet there was a lot of talk and emotions brought that probably clouded judgement. I think maybe Wayne felt somehow the hometown puts on the hometown superstar, and that Dot got it and it’s a sleight against Wayne because Drake associations and you got the rug pulled out. Maybe not but maybe dude had too many voices around him talking and potentially hoping this gets another beef or spat. I can see it happening multiple ways for perception even if he should of maybe not went on defense immediately

I'm a Mexican American who listens to classic rock and watches wrestling. So of course, my opinion and perspective is that of an outsider who is aware of pop culture. Lil Wayne is part of pop culture. When I saw Lil Wayne's "performance" at Wrestlemania I was confused and by the end of the match said, "Well at least Lil Wayne's performance matched the match" and moved on. I became aware of the beef when two very different KZbinrs I follow both brought it up. Because of the amount of Beef content I consumed, the algorithm suggested Lil Wayne's various Super Bowl responses. My immediate response was that someone is making a lot of money off of him, and it isn't Lil Wayne. Then the tweet. I, again as an outsider, had the cruel thought that with the amount of drugs Lil Wayne's handlers are feeding him, nobody is waking him up. Hearing him say it was the first time he heard the lyrics really solidified that thought. I can't help but think of MJ in his final days, surrounded by Yes Men who are willing to put someone else's life on the line just so they can keep the gravy train going as long as possible.

If Lil' Wayne is at the Super Bowl show I will be so disappointed. Cry and get what you want like a man child. Real Icons do not say I AM AN ICON GIVE ME SUPERBOWL, you are supposed to allow the people to say that, if true. I used to consider him a man of action. Now, He just fell off. Shame... They come for my head, ignores that he started all of this. You don't get to argue I am sleeping when you have been crying for a long time about this like a child. This is not icon behavior. I think several people were disingenuous and pretended to be upset for Lil Wayne, his not performing means they weren’t able to perform at the Superbowl either. To me this was about themselves, mix in some OVHoes, sprinkle in some Diddy-spirited haters who are tired of seeing Kendrick win, never really about Lil Wayne and he got gassed up from the outcry, like yeah it should be me. I’m glad Wayne came to his senses and finally congratulated KDot.

Also I don't think this is the case, I think Wayne knew what Kendrick said.. Redman did a Redbull freestyle and said something to the effect of "The rap game done birthed a lot of lames new rappers they hero Lil Wayne, my hero Rakim & Big Daddy Kane." And people where like oh is that shots at Wayne!? But then this Kendrick verse came out and of course over shadowed that Redman rap.. like I said I think Wayne knew what Kendrick said, but also he could have heard what Redman said and maybe taken some offense as well? Just a thought!

It is no longer double cup; it is officially the spoon and needle. It matters in that it is much more severe than you think. However, Lil Wayne has the resources to get treatment, but this complicit acceptance of these so "new" drugs use in HipHop [entertainment as a whole] is dangerous! I do this for a living, so this comes from love and empathy.

Sadly, many of the ppl we grew up on and championed are showing themselves to be just as ignorant and detached as the young & old idiots (Skip, AS, kids who discovered hip-hop this year) commenting and “reporting” on matters they never cared about

To me the “whatever though” was essentially Kendrick’s assertion that he’s not going to harp on the fact that one of his legends isn’t happy or proud of his accomplishments, because at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter all that much. It’s the opposite of how Cole took Nas’s reaction to his song.

12:53 hadn't heard it?! This year, every time Young Money adds context to their situations it makes it worse.... First Nicki, then Aubrey, now Wayne. Somebody change Tyga's passwords until New Years.

Wayne's "sleeping giant" tweet was most likely him responding to people in his ear saying "Kendrick just mentioned you man. He mentioned you on his new song." Wayne probably hadn't heard the song like he said in the interview. Wayne is a pretty honest fellow when it comes to his feelings.

I'm almost sure Wayne hasn't heard any of Kendrick's disses and has no idea what Kenny is capable of right now. There is no metaphor or any amount of witty bars in the world that Wayne could have used against someone who recorded MTG and Not Like Us. Not being that out of touch... for as much as Kendrick claims to not be on the internet, he is on top of everything and is by far the best at reading the room right now.
