I will always think that fromsoftware is one of the few things that is hard in its own way because you need to learn from mistakes as a whole or take information you learn fully to beat something. The mechanics of a “only something game” will eventually have a cheat to it while a fromsoftware game can have any effect to do both. Like I can mage power through everything in the past or genuinely learn how to fight hand to hand combat and yet find magic harder because I don’t know how to move before casting.

I think of all the souls platforming, the only one that feels kind of satisfying is the jump in SotFS. The long range on the the jump, and using the ground slam to cancel rolling feels pretty nice. Did not like platforming in any of the other ones though (except Sekiro if you count that in the "souls" lineage).
