One thing I love about them is the dialogue, you can see their affection and similarities and it feels so natural. And also poor Wolf! :( Thanks for uploading! :D

I might be wrong but I thought Charles the Bold wasn’t disappointed in Mary’s birth. I know her grandfather, Charles’s father, wasn’t pleased and from what I read he didn’t attend the baptism. And I love how Maximilian says he doesn’t know how to have a good marriage, and Mary’s reply was “you’ve seen a bad one, do the opposite”. It’s common sense that I appreciate
@Lily1127channel4 жыл бұрын
Hm,both might be true. Maybe Charles was initially happy at Mary's birth and loved her. But as the years passed, he had several marriages and no wife could give him a boy, a boy and heir that would have been very important. That might have frustrated him. But maybe it was just an invention of the writers.

What happens between his right hand and that woman who is married?

When on their way from Maximilian to Mary, so that Wolf can assist the wedding by proxy, they slept together.

@@Lily1127channel did they got together or she stayed with her husband?
@Lily1127channel4 жыл бұрын
@@Mary-vz5qq Well she can't leave her husband, they are married, so what they committed is adultery. They will have a lot of conflict because of this in the next scenes I will upload, and Max and Mary will also be involved in the conflict.

@@Lily1127channel Back then a couple married by proxy wouldn't have sex but would instead lie next to each other and touch each others' feet as a sort of symbolic consummation.

XV-century sex-talk, hahahaha! Did people really were then saying "I went to pee"??? No Maximilian, you will have only three children (the youngest will die as a baby).
@Lily1127channel4 жыл бұрын
Well the German word he says is the exact translation of "pee" 😀 So I thought I had to leave it that way, whether they actually used these words already or not
@stoker1931jane4 жыл бұрын
Indeed good translation of what Maximilian said. Then again I don't think he would have left the bedroom during their Wedding night to pee...he would probably have used a chamberpot ✌🏻

It’s a term that’s a bit more old fashioned but lacks a decent translation.

Yeah it was basically their motto 😄 marry instead of wars
@b.30494 жыл бұрын
It literally was their motto. Bella gerant alii, tu felix Austria nube literally translates to ‘Let others wage war: thou, happy Austria, marry’. They put it on buildings. Some buildings in Vienna, if I’m not mistaken, have it written in their walls. Maximillian was probably the most genius at this. Point taken in this video.

@@b.3049 yes it is their motto, but Austria actually fought as much as married if not more. The very existence of Austria was for war, the military Ostmark for HRE. Looking at history, it is safe to say Austria=war.
