Governments are always a reflection of the people they govern, as they are a reflection of what those people are willing to tolerate. The blame for the increasing importation of people from totally foreign cultures - and the subsequent consequences of such action - falls squarely on the Canadian people for turning an apathetic blind eye until the problem became too inconvenient. It's not exactly like birthrate data is a big secret, and despite being poorly tracked, immigration and demographic data is also freely available. If most Canadians were so inclined, they could have taking 5 minutes to do their due diligence as a citizen to look up some basic information and say to themselves "wow, maybe it's not a great idea to replace our population over the next 20-50 years".

My parents came here from Italy in 1956 for a better life…. and they found it, and they knew it! They intergrated, learned how to speak, read and write the language over the years. They had become proud Canadian citizens 25 years later. They are no longer with us as of 2016 when mom passed away leaving my brother and I as orphans. All I can say is this. It’s a good thing they did not have to experience what Canada has become… because this would have broken their hearts. I'm 47, born and raised in Canada. I can trace my family roots back to the 1700's when my ancestors emigrated from France to Montreal. I don't know what Canadian culture is. I thought I did when I was a kid. Then it just sort of disappeared. Maybe it was never really there. I don't blame the Liberals for it's disappearance. I was fading before they got here. I am a Canadian who came from Hong Kong, and I treasure the ideals of freedom, liberty, and democratic values, which Canada has or should have (under Trudeau, part of such values were depleted). The Liberal-NDP government hasn't been doing their job in vetting immigrants, either, whether legal (my preference) or illegal (not my preference). These may be tangible aspects such as food (maple syrup) or sports (ice hockey), or intangible values such as freedom and liberty. It's fine multiculturalism has brought more and better food choice to ways of solving problems. But it isn't fine when the basis of liberty is being replaced by something of a totalitarian nature. In short, it depends on the multicultural content itself. As for me being fine and not the target of hatred, I recall someone had said something like, referring to the WW2 Nazi era, that when the hatred targeted others and you remained silent, it would be too late when the hatred sought for you.
