I just want to state the obvious, I could never imagine what it would be like to have a parent gone for 9 months. That being said, I could never have both my parents gone at the same time. Whoever has disliked this video has no heart and have no pride for people who risk their lives. Welcome home. Thank you for your service, it is greatly appreciated. This video made me cry tears of joy. Recently a family friend came to one of my cheer events and surprised me there and I cried the happiest year that I had in a long time. I didn’t think that I would ever get to experience something like this but I did and it was awesome getting to see someone that I loved so much come home. Edit: Thank to all the people in the medical fields right now for helping people with corona. That is a risky job and i admire every nurse and doctor who is risking their lives right now.

emichelle19 While I agree, I am not optimistic that our government has the ability to coordinate things in such a way that it doesn't happen. Of course while I am grateful for their service, I think it probably is not a good idea for both parents of a child to be in the military at the same time.

nunya biznez emichelle19 It is not the governments responsibility to make sure that there is a parent at home, that falls upon the parents. Plus, the government has no right to decide what is best for the family. It is like here in Sweden. Where we have paid parental leave, feminazis are complaining that it is always women who stay at home with the kids and the men work. Now they made sure that they had to both take time off, to split the ammount of time given. Even if one of the parent has a better paying job or not. Government should decide a lot in everyday life. But when it comes to your family, they should just stay the f away :)
@debbytalbert99419 жыл бұрын
stoffni The military is supposed to prevent this from happening. When I was on active duty, they ensured married couples weren't deployed at the same time. The military IS a family, and we take care of our own. For them to both be deployed, leaving their daughter in another's care, caused undue hardship on them both.

I know this was a year or two ago, but some of the comments are down right horrible! So what if both of her parents were deployed at the same time?! I'm pretty sure that they had someone responsible watching her and telling her all about how much her parents love her and what they're doing for this country! This is in NO WAY child abandonment! I'm so proud of these parents for both serving our country and the mom shouldn't have to "stay home with their daughter" just because she's a mom doesn't matter she can be in the army as well as being a mom. My brother and sister in law are in the military and they have a 2 year old that my parents are taking care of until they return home safe. Does that make my sister in-law a "bad mom" NO it doesn't!
@cgarcia13277 жыл бұрын
Lily Mowry It does not make her a bad mother Lily. She is twice as good as most mothers on Earth. 1st she is brave enough to be separated from her child. Then she goes to Protect this country and keep us safe so some people can talk trash. If your mother is also twice as good of a mother because she already raced her Children and now she's raising her grandchild. On my behalf please thank your sister and brother-in-law and may God-bless your family and bring your sister and brother-in-law home safe

I was always under the impression that only one parent is allowed to enlist in any Armed Forces, or at the very least only one deployed at a time. Did this change or was I just misinformed? Either way, these people are truly courageous and selfless people to make such large personal sacrifices on behalf of our country and knowing the risk they take to do so. I have a young daughter about the same age and I just cannot imagine how hard it would be to be away from her.

Julia (Addisons mom) is my first cousin.. She married Brian after Addison was born and they were both already enlisted from the get go.

Lyndsie Welch HA! That is so funny, I just explained how I thought this happened and you totally confirmed it. They got pregnant while working together probably right? OOPS! Now the kid pays the price. Happens so f'ing often in the service and it's shameful and selfish.
@bayoubeauty98159 жыл бұрын
@ninjapleaz thank you for your smartass comment, however.... That isnt exactly how it really is.. Its not my business to say but maybe you should think there may be more to it. #bye
@YourFutureEx9 жыл бұрын
Lyndsie Welch Yeah, there is more to it... regret. Honestly, here's to hoping one of them stays home and helps their child be a good person while the other one brings home the bacon. It's a typical story in the military.

I totally didn’t expect the mascot to be the father. Thought it was too cliché. Then when only the mother came out of the box, I kept wondering where the father will be coming from.. Until the mascot started taking off its costume and I began crying. Totally caught off guard. The effort those parents made for their kid❤️ As if both being away from their daughter isn’t enough
