Loved this! I've always been a reader for as long as I can remember, but reading the Fifty Shades of Grey books is what really got me obsessively back into reading. I think I read the series about three times. Same with the Twilight series. So good! I mainly love reading about history, biographies & contemporary romance, but open to all. There really is nothing better than losing yourself in a good book and freeing your mind! Thanks for sharing, Lily! I'm intrigued by some that you showed in your collection I never knew of & can't wait to read them.

And The Mitford Series by Jan Karon, these help when I’m feeling anxious or sad. These are all my comfort books along with The Chronicles of Narnia. You might Rolling Thunder about the Native American Medicine Man and Conversations with the Arch Druid. The Alexandria Quartet by Lawrence Durrell are also at the top of my list for literature. Hi Lily from Washington state ! I recently started reading " Making A Life : Working By Hand and Designing the Life You Are Made to Live " by Melanie Falick. It's all about creating by hand, how transformative it is, interviews of different artists/designers/makers and is so inspiring. Thanks to this book I have committed to creating art every day, watercolor, colored pencil, sketching, photography. I also am finishing Patrick Leigh Fermor's book " Between the Woods and the Water " which is part of a three book series of walking across Europe in 1934. This particular book is about walking through Hungary and Romania and is fascinating and beautifully written. You can't go wrong with anything by him ! I feel most of us who can stay at home, are safe, well, fed and taking precautions are extremely lucky at this time. In Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, there were three high magnitude earthquakes last Sunday and a lot of damage there ( my family is from there ). So things could always be worse. Thank you for your funny and uplifting video, we all appreciate and look forward to them. Don't grab the Dixie mug !

World War II related: The Saboteur: The Aristocrat Who Became France’s Most Daring Anti-Nazi Commando by Paul Kix, Resistance Women by Jennifer Chiaverini, A Woman of No Importance by Sonia Purcell, and Lilac Girls and Lost Roses by Martha Hall Kelly. Books based on real events: Chariot on the Mountain by Jack Ford and Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate. Other books: Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough and Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. A classic: Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe.

I love that you’re a fan of Churchill:) I really enjoy books that relate to health and medicine and what it means to live a life of quality. 1) The Center cannot hold 2) When breath becomes air 3) Frankenstein (not health but such a classic) and on that note of health and quality, I hope your family is well and stay safe!

"Beneath a Scarley Sky" by Sullivan is an awesome WWII story that is written as fiction, but is based on true events. Also, "Islands in the Stream" by Hemingway is a novel I read every summer because it reminds me so much of the season. The opening line of the book is painted on a wall in South Florida where I grew up and so the nostalgia is strong. Enjoy!

Well thanks for asking Lily - I’ve just reread ‘it isn’t all mink’ by the original directrice of the haute couture at Pierre Balmain, Ginette Spanier. The second half is full of hilarious details and anecdotes about working in the 1950s haute couture, the so called golden age, including about her close friends Marlene Dietrich + Noel Coward. She writes things about people you wouldn’t get away with today. However, the first half of the book covers - apart from her upbringing - the years she spent on the run from the nazis in occupied France during ww2. Her and her new husband were both Jewish. Talk about being resourceful .. She published two other books - long road to freedom which goes into more detail about her ww2 experience + and now it’s sables, about her US lecture tour career when she became a well known personality in the 1960s. All three are still available on Amazon. Would highly recommend. A timely mix of amusing escapism + inspiring spirit in the face of adversity. Enjoy 😉😀👍👍👍

Great variety of books. Thanks, Lily for another fun video. A book I think you and your family will love is The Boy, the mole, the fox and the horse by Charlie Mackesy. It’s mainly gorgeous illustrations together with beautiful, thoughtful dialogs and life lessons. In his Instagram you’ll be able to see some parts of the book. Honestly, one of my favourites. The other book I really enjoyed was World War Z by Max Brooks (nothing like the movie - it was rubbish). A zombie apocalyptic novel written as a collection of individual accounts narrated by an agent of the United Nations Postwar Commission, following the devastating global conflict against the zombie plague. You feel you’re reading a history book that based on fantasy. First book please get the hard copy as it’s just stunning 😊❤️
