Equipment used: 2B Derwent graphite pencil (for initial sketch), kneadable eraser/rubber, is not Pink Pig A3 cartridge sketchbook, Faber Castell Polychromos Coloured Pencils (24 pack) -first time trying these out and I am impressed with the quality. I highly recommend them!

I was just scrolling on instagram one day and came across Lily Maymac, thought to myself that I had to draw her. She has face of a doll. It's crazy. Plus I thought that nose ring would be cool to draw :P
I couldn't fit everything in and not all of my technique is shown since I had to condense a whole load of video clips that I've recorded over a span 3 of days into 3 minutes to fit in with the music duration (some parts have been cut off and/or skipped). It's been a year since I've done realism and it seems all new to me again. Anyway, this isn't a tutorial so you might not learn anything from this or probably you will but I just wanted to show my progress and stages of how I draw with coloured pencil. Thank you for taking the time in watching my video. Hope it inspires you in some way. A reminder to myself and to others: Practice makes perfect as they say and don't give up! :)

Great choice with the Polychromos, a lot of people use Prismacolor Premier pencils. Here's my 2 cents. Prismacolor Premier has horrible quality control issues. The led isn't centred, meaning it will break ten times more than a good pencil. They break too easily. They have a horrible wax bloom, so you can't do much layering. The wood casing are split half the times. The led is usually broken inside the pencil. Try Faber Castell Polychromos colored pencils. They are oil based opposed to the prismacolor premier's wax base so the Polychromos is a harder led, therefore resulting in you being able to sharpen them to a fine point. And you can layer them without a wax bloom. They layer and blend beautifully. You don't need that many colors because you can layer them so much. I have a 12 set and look at what I'm able to do on my channel! The polychromos are thankfully centred. Their colors are lightfast. Basically the ONLY thing that makes prismas get a boost is their smooth and creamy led, there really is no led as creamy as prisma's. If you want other alternatives try the Derwent Drawing pencils and the Derwent Procolour pencils. Also the luminence are GREAT. LOVE your videos. May I place a request for you to do these types of videos again?

_KittyKat I have prismacolor premier and the led is centered, also I have never had any problems with sharpening them. Maybe it's just the older ones, or just some prismacolor pencils, not all.

I use the prismacolors, too and I never had any problems with sharping them. I always use a sharper for eyeliner pencils. Maybe they break if you use a normal sharper, I don't know
