Same, sometimes i get worried with all the jordan peterson inclusions since many of his ideals dont value feminine confidence plus so many brothers running around haha, but then instilling this sort of confidence in her for things she loves and seeing that the brothers just want her happy is the cutest thing ever and gives me hope

That is actually sad!! He shouldn't be parenting his own father!! That is exactly what he is doing. It shows a lot at how irresponsible his parents are and how he has to take care of things his parents should be. But hey, they got their own son hurt because they were letting him ride a motorcycle (which is exactly what a dirt bike is!) when he isn't even old enough to get his license to drive!! They are irresponsible unfit parents!

I'm thinkin maybe Grandma was giving out a small hint ..."I was 11 when I got my first horse!" lol I raised Thoroughbreds (on a very small basis) for 9 years. Always loved horses and we bought a small 13 acre farm in Southern Indiana and I thought, well why not! If you're going to have horses, being a Kentucky native, ya may as well make a go of it! Never had a horse in my life until I was 40 years old. Studied everything and took every class at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky I could take. I worked 2 free summers on the backside at the most famous racetrack in the world, Churchill Downs, home of The Kentucky Derby. I hot walked horses, cleaned stalls, fed, put out hay....and everything I did was free but a couple of awesome trainers took me under their wing and shared their knowledge with me. It was an awesome experience for 9 years on our little farm and 2 years at the racetrack. Keep that dream Lili! YOU CAN DO IT! You know, the University of Louisville has an Equine Education Program that is totally geared to the horse industry. Just an FYI

aw thank you for posting this comment. I dreamed of having horses all my life & now at 63 I know it's just a dream unrealized but sometimes things do happen later in life. You certainly put your time in mucking with the best! I really hope Lily gets her horse dream realized! ;)

Yay! Lily's Birthday! Gideon is doing the decorations! Nice that the boys did her chores in the morning so she could sleep in. Nice presents from the boys! Grandma did good too. So when I get enough for 2-3 years worth, then that means I don't have to put it up next year. I think it could be the same with livestock. Maybe you only raise turkeys every other year.

I was horse crazy at 11. I'd been riding for over a year and was leasing a horse. I'd ride a bus, hike for 2 miles, up and down, every day to get to the stable. I loved the care, including cleaning out the stall as well as riding. Once she learns more and has more experience, Lily deserves a horse of her own!

Happy Birthday Lily, When I turned 11 the shopping centre across the road opened on the same day and they had fireworks. My two friends and I were out the front watching them and jumping around in excitement. We pretended the fireworks were for my birthday. Your birthday is a week before mine. I was also loved horses but didn't learn to ride until I was twelve. You are such a sweet young lady.

I am so happy to see how you guys are honoring your BEAUTIFUL Lily on her birthday! I was in tears watching this! Just watching her on the videos and seeing how much of a down to earth soul she has working so hard and diligently makes my heart swell with joyful tears. I also love how you take the time to recognize and honor your children! It’s so important to do that especially when you’re raising them to be humble, hard working and honest people. To show them you see all their efforts and reward them with even more love and respect, it truly helps shape their characters. Happy Belated Birthday Lily! I was about your age when I got my first horse. I went on to train, give lessons, work cattle and so much more. Here's my advice for you as you learn to ride: Knees in Heels down sit up straight Relax your butt. Your butt is like a ball, if it is tight (with air) it bounces well. If it is relaxed (less air) it won't bounce at all. Control your horse's head and feet. This is true in the saddle or on the ground. If a horse bolts, for example, turning the head causes the horse to change what he/she is doing. As you progress and run into obstacles with your horse go back to the beginning. Groundwork( is the key! Horses in a herd move in 2 ways. They are either driven (from just behind the flank) or by leading. We normally lead from the left side, but sometimes it is prudent to lead from just in front of the horse. Build trust with your horse. Learn how horses communicate and interact with the herd. It will help you to understand how to communicate in their language. I really hope you get a horse someday and are able to have the kind of relationship I've had with my horses. If you have questions, I will be happy to answer them any time. I rode western, but the principles of riding are the same -- just some of the language is different. You say "canter" I say "lope".
