I heard that kids found this episode boring. I kinda wish that the staff would stop making episode addressing the older fan. They stop telling a good story when they do. I still don't like Starlight cus she feels like a unfunny third wheel in any episode she is in. She is what I feared Sunset would be but worse cus she is in the main show all the time.

This is WHY I've always been adamantly against fan-pandering. 90% of the viewerbase has no idea what the hell any of it is supposed to mean and it will destroy enjoyment for them.

Ah, learning that episode was supposed to be in season 5 makes MUCH more sense now. I found it a cute episode, but I was left feeling like "well this was late to the party", especially with the comments towards Fluttershy and Twilight. I just didn't know why it felt that way until now. The MLP writers poking fun at the community, all the memes and nods are all cute -now-, but I feel it's going to horribly date the show. It's like, Animaniacs is great, for those who grew up with it and get the references, but kids who watch it today have no freaking clue what most of the jokes -mean-, so the humor is lost on them. MLP is beginning to use the "pop culture" stuff a little too much I feel. The first nods to the community were great. Now the pandering is getting old. Lastly, hearing that role was meant for Spike, that pretty much sums up the entirety or Starlight Glimmers existence to me. Most of her appearances you could swap out Spike and it'd work pretty much the same, and it sucks. We were finally starting to get some development for Spike and now he's demoted to rank of "background pony".

I feel that Bronies want the frosting( lore) rather than the a good cake(story) and that a lot of them don't understand that fandom logic( characters being relatable, marysues, super tight continuity) dosen't apply to professional writing. I also think that the DHX staff is forgetting that too.

I totally thought this video would just be someone salty at this episode making fun of them. Wow! This is...like incredible. You always have this way to get points across that I completely disagree and I have no way to come back. These points are just so good! =D

Because of this episode, I rewatched a lot of old brony analysis videos and cound them to be quibbling bullshit that focuses on being Channel Awesome wannabes rather than have valid criticism over these episodes

That's the biggest problem with most Analysts: They're more concerned about being Doug Walker than about making good criticism. Hence the over-reliance on skits and "alternate persona arcs"

I'm kinda glad that none of my friends watch MLP because then I'd have to tell them that I love your channel and you're *ahem* "Such a bad person and a bully" But that's laughable at best. I love you're channel even if I don't really watch MLP anymore. The morals you talk about and the lessons about fandoms and how shows do story are amazing! And they can apply to shows beside MLP. Thanks for being my thinking videos for a while, and to come.

A lot of people think he's a caricature because he has the audacity to make it clear that autistic people sometimes do less than pleasant things, and that's bad for some reason. Anyone who has to work with people who has autism, or has autism themselves and doesn't make pathetic excuses for it already know how useful and positive an example Sheldon is.
