Glad you liked it. As we can't travel overseas at this moment we are having fun finding places around New Zealand that we have never heard of nor been too. It's amazing how many we are finding :-)

What a wet, miserable, fun and beautiful place. I would really like to see the glow worms!
@GeoRick3 жыл бұрын
Strange how you can enjoy such a place even in the rain :-) Had to dry out our 'dead cats' after the visit they were very wet.
@Komikino3 жыл бұрын
@@GeoRick I call those things "dead hamsters". 🐹

Limestone cave is very cool indeed (I adore exploring caves) The countryside does not look too dissimilar to parts of Ireland. Apart from your wildlife and mega high mountains. I love the rain (we are mostly composed of water after all) lol. I think about Geocaching all the time, yet, cannot go geocaching..... Thanks for sharing.

Yes Ireland and New Zealand do look similar particularly the North Island I think. It can get a little 'damp' here too :-)

Your ferns are so huge! That cave was fabulous, the poisonous plant not so much.
@GeoRick3 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked the cave we had fun there. Not sure if the poisonous plant has killed any humans but farmers don't like it as its a danger to livestock and horses.

That's my kind of cave! So many great looking features. Shame it didn't provide more shelter from the rain but a fun adventure to be sure.

Yes it was fun but keeping the cameras dry was nearly impossible the wind covers on our microphones had to be dried out. 'Wet cats' rather than 'dead cats.' :-)

Yes a little rugged but not too hard.

A friend and I discovered this cane on Queens Birthday weekend last year. We had to squeeze the car in up the road a bit as there were quite a lot of people. The cave was amazing wasn't it.
@GeoRick3 жыл бұрын
Great you found it too. Yes loved it as it was more natural than the more well known caves with lots of tourists. Thanks for watching and commenting.

LOVE how in nz we can dig through bush without fear of being eaten 😂 Just love NZ in general. How lucky are we?

Looks like a great place to visit! There's an "eternal flame" cave about 8 hours from me that I'd like to visit, it's an earthcache, and there's a flame that burns continuously behind a waterfall or something like that. Thanks for sharing!
@GeoRick3 жыл бұрын
That cave sounds like a very special place. Any chance we will see it in a video one day?
@GeoElmoGeocaching3 жыл бұрын
@@GeoRick it's up near Buffalo NY, and probably not that far from the Ontario CA vloggers (or at least much closer). I'd love to get up there someday, as well as to a May 2000 cache called The Spot that's a few hours from there, but it would have to be an overnight trip. So, not anytime soon! Others have shared video of this place, as it's not just a geocaching hotspot - look up "Cave of the Eternal Flame" and you'll see.

"NEUROTOXIN" O_O That sounds more dangerous than dangerous animals which you have none of. haha The glow worm caves were on my list of places to visit! One day soon :) Glad no cameras were hurt in the making of this video ;)

Great would love to see you here. Yes the poison is serious to cattle and horses. I have head of a horse that died after eating it :-(

How long is the walk to the caves
@GeoRick2 жыл бұрын
It's not a long walk from memory about 15 -20 minutes.
